Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Mom Passes Away at 67

Jennifer Love Hewitt‘s mom, Patricia, has passed away at the age of 67 from complications due to cancer on Tuesday, according to the actress’ rep.

PEOPLE reports that Hewitt’s rep stated:

“Her family mourns her loss. She was an angel to all who knew her and they are grateful she is now in a better place. They ask for privacy at this difficult time. No further details are being provided.”

Us Magazine reports that the actress recently told Parade:

“I’ve tried not to act too crazy or disrespect the opportunities that I have been given or the people that have believed in me. I’ve been really blessed and I don’t necessarily know what keeps one person here longer than somebody else, but I couldn’t feel more grateful.”

Jennifer Love Hewitt’s mom, Patricia, was a speech-language pathologist. Her daughter, 33, kept Patricia’s illness private, but said that she appreciated her mom’s acceptance of the career decisions she made.

PEOPLE reports that the actress’s mother found her role as a prostitute on The Client’s List “hilarious.” Hewitt joked in 2010 that:

“She was like, ‘So let’s review … For 15 years people have been talking about your boobs. Earlier this year, you wrote about your hoo haw in a book. Now you’re playing a crack ho on TV.’ She was like, ‘Do you think maybe you could do an animated movie next?’ “

Access Hollywood reports that the actress was attending the Monte Carlo Festival this week, but that she departed Monaco on Tuesday. Jennifer Love Hewitt was able to make it back to Los Angeles in time for her mother’s passing.
