‘Real Housewives’ Head Honcho Andy Cohen Says A New Location Is Coming ‘Sooner Than You Think’

The Real Housewives franchise may be set to expand its borders soon. According to Entertainment Weekly, the hit reality show will be adding a new series to its current lineup, which consists of shows in Atlanta, New York, Orange County, and Beverly Hills. Where will the new franchise be located and when will it hit televisions?

The news of a brand new Real Housewives city was first revealed by Andy Cohen during an interview with Amy Phillips, who runs her own Sirius CM radio broadcast, Reality Checked. While speaking with Phillips, Cohen revealed that the show would indeed be adding a new city to its current list of locations.

When asked if he thought the hit franchise would be taking another city under its wings, Cohen told Phillips, “I do… I really do.”

However, when pressed on more details, Cohen remained a little cryptic about the possibility of a new city. In fact, the host of Watch What Happens Live would not leak any information concerning the new series, including when it would start filming and where it would be located. That being said, Cohen did tell Phillips that fans should expect an official announcement “sooner than you think.”

Does that mean the Real Housewives franchise might be coming to a city near you? Like, say Albuquerque? At this point, the series really could show up just about anywhere, so an appearance in a city like Albuquerque is certainly not out of the question. Without any further details to go by, however, it is really anyone’s guess as to which locations producers are targeting for the highly anticipated expansion.

Whatever the case may be, this latest news should be exciting to all fans of the hit reality series. With all of the possible locations that could be added, this bit of information should only attract even more viewers as the series continues to expand its reach.

Meanwhile, along with his duties as a host, Cohen has long been an executive producer of the popular reality series. While this surely gives him an inside look at everything that happens behind the scenes, it is not clear how involved he is in the selection process of this newest branch of the Housewives franchise.

This is especially considering the fact that Cohen has not been involved with all of the previous expansions. With that in mind, Cohen went on to reveal that he had absolutely no part in the development of The Real Housewives of Melbourne. Cohen even went so far as to say that he has “never even seen it.”

Apparently, although the series in Melbourne contains the same brand name, which is owned by Bravo, the original producers of the Housewives franchise had nothing to do with its development. Instead, Cohen stated that Bravo simply licensed the brand name to producers in Australia, who then worked to develop the new series.

That being said, it is not likely that the same will happen this time around. This is especially true considering Cohen’s recent comments, as well as the fact that he appeared to be fairly excited about the new series. In fact, Cohen and the producers at Bravo will probably play a large role in the development of the new show, especially if it is located in the states. Of course, everything is pure speculation at this point, and it could be possible that the new city is shipped to some overseas location.

Hopefully, Cohen and the rest of the producers will provide us with more information soon. Until then, all fans can do is wait and hope that the new franchise comes to a nearby city.
