Jessa Seewald Shares First Photos Of Baby Seewald As It Appears Home Birth Was Successful
Jessa Duggar Seewald gave birth to a nine-pound, 11-ounce baby boy yesterday, and it appears she was able to have the home birth she desired. The new mother shared photos of the baby boy with various members of the family. However, there was one very surprising person missing from the photo set: Jessa! The Seewalds shared six separate photos of baby Seewald but did not share any photos of Jessa with the baby. However, the Duggar family claims that Jessa is “doing great.”
The Duggar family made the announcement Thursday evening that their daughter, Jessa Seewald, had given birth to her first child. It was announced that the baby was a boy, but no further details were provided. However, this morning, the Duggars released additional details about the birth including the baby’s weight. Jessa had expressed fear prior to giving birth that the baby would be “big.” She noted that she was the biggest baby of all of the Duggar babies at nine pounds, 15 ounces. While the baby didn’t quite make it to her size, he was close. The new Duggar grandbaby weighed in at nine pounds, 11 ounces, just four ounces less than his mother Jessa. He was 21 and one-fourth inches long.
With Jessa back on the TLC lineup with her new special, Jill & Jessa: Counting On, which is set to air by the end of the year, it is not surprising that People Magazine was given the first tip to the exclusive story. Jill, who had her birth aired as a Duggar special on TLC, also provided first details to People Magazine along with first photos. Therefore, in true Duggar fashion, it seems that Jessa is doing the same. Jessa provided the first photo of her baby boy to People before releasing a series of photos on her own blog, the Seewald Family Blog.

The first photo provided to People shows baby Seewald swaddled in a towel shortly after birth. Though the Seewalds have released the first photos of their new bundle of joy, they have not yet released a name. Jessa and Ben have said that they will not be following Duggar tradition by using a letter theme. Instead, they said they would be following a different theme such as heroic Christians throughout history or family names. It seems that Duggar fans will have to wait just a little bit longer to learn the name of the newest Duggar grandchild.
In addition to the single photo of the new baby shared with People Magazine, the Seewalds also shared a series of six photos on the Seewald Family Blog. The photos again show the baby boy swaddled in a brown towel along with photos of the baby with father Ben Seewald, grandma Duggar, and grandfather Jim Bob Duggar. In addition to the photos released by the Duggar family, Duggar Family News: Life Is Not All Pickles And Hairspray also released a first-look image of grandma Guinn Seewald with the new baby. However, there are no photos of Jessa with the newborn. Therefore, fans are wondering where Jessa is in the photos or if she had some sort of pregnancy complication. Despite the speculation, the Duggar family claims that Jessa is “doing great” following the birth.
Other fans say that if Jessa is doing great, she likely isn’t ready to be photographed just yet. Jessa has shared numerous photos throughout her pregnancy and is always sure that her makeup, outfit, and appearance are on point. Therefore, after just giving birth, it is likely that Jessa is waiting until she has a chance to gather herself before publishing any photographs. Additionally, TLC may be wanting to capitalize on the birth by providing those first sweet photos and images of mother and son during a birth special on Jill & Jessa: Counting On.
