Cody Simpson ‘Ecstatic’ About Gigi Hadid’s Recent Split, Will They Get Back Together?

Cody Simpson and Gigi Hadid have had an on-again, off-again relationship in the past, so will they reconcile now that Hadid has split from Joe Jonas after just five months?

Earlier this morning, November 4, the couple’s split was announced, and now, it appears Cody Simpson may be ready to get back with his ex.

“One person who is ecstatic about the break up is [Cody Simpson],” an insider told Hollywood Life on November 4.

“[Cody Simpson] was cool publicly about Joe moving in so quickly after he and Gigi split, but behind the scenes he was livid. [Cody Simpson] is not a fan of Joe at all, and still sees himself getting back with Gigi. [Cody Simpson] definitely thinks they will reunite now that Joe is out of the picture.”

Cody Simpson split from his former model girlfriend in May of this year, and just weeks later, Hadid was dating Jonas. Throughout their time together, the couple made no secret of their romance, and were often spotted holding hands and being affectionate in both New York City and Los Angeles. They were also spotted spending time with Taylor Swift and her boyfriend, Calvin Harris.

At the time of the split, the couple’s busy schedules, including Hadid’s modeling and Jonas’ band, DNCE, were cited as the reason behind their split. Although “nothing serious happened” between them, the pair simply couldn’t dedicate the time needed to make their romance work. Plus, claimed Hollywood Life, their 6-year age gap had begun to be a major factor.

“He wanted marriage and she wanted to be a 20 year old girl,” the source said of Cody Simpson’s ex. “He wanted a family soon, she wanted to hang out with friends and live the life she is creating for herself.”

Ironically, just days before the breakup was announced, Cody Simpson was spotted spending time with one of Hadid’s close friends, Hailey Baldwin.

While Cody Simpson is said to be ecstatic about his ex-girlfriend’s recent split, prior reports have linked him to another woman: model Sahara Ray, daughter of Australian surfing legend Tony Ray. According to the Daily Mail on October 28, Cody Simpson was spotted coming out of a Los Angeles club last week with Ray in tow, and they didn’t hesitate to share their PDA with photographers nearby. In the photos taken, Cody Simpson was seen with his arm around Ray, who was wearing a white fur coat, as they stood outside the club, which was situated on the iconic Sunset Boulevard.

The report also revealed Cody Simpson had recently posed for a photo with a scantily clad Ray.

Days later, a second report surfaced on the Daily Mail, which revealed Cody Simpson’s rumored girlfriend’s friendship with another model, Bryanna Holly, who was previously linked to Brody Jenner, star of The Hills and Keeping Up With The Kardashians, and believed to be currently dating 5 Seconds Of Summer drummer Ashton Irwin. According to the report, the two models had bonded over their interest in Australian men.

While Ray and Holly posed for a number of photos throughout the Halloween weekend, Cody Simpson wasn’t included in any of them, and aside from their late-night outing in Hollywood last month, the two haven’t been spotted together publicly, which may hint that their October rendezvous was an isolated incident.

Either way, there’s likely at least a slight possibility that on-again, off-again love birds Cody Simpson and Hadid could eventually reconcile.
