Carrie Underwood is speaking out, and she knows that she is one of the lucky ones in country music. Carrie is on the cover of the December issue of Cosmopolitan, and now Billboard is sharing some of what she has to say in the upcoming issue of the magazine. Carrie Underwood speaks out about how it is harder for women in country music than it is for the men.
"When I go to vote for the Country Music Awards, I have to write in names -- I can think of, like, three who are really active. Women have to work harder to get half the recognition. I am one of the lucky ones."Underwood also spoke out about marriage. Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert recently got divorced, and so have several other country stars. This seems to be happening a lot more lately. Carrie doesn't plan to be one of these statistics, though, and things are going great in her marriage to NHL player Mike Fisher.
"Everyone is getting divorced. They're dropping like flies! But we are good. It helped that we were both established before we were married. Neither of us could be like, 'I didn't know it would be like this.' "/blockquote>Carrie Underwood is just a good girl from Oklahoma. As a person, Carrie is a mom and a wife, but she is also a country music artist. Underwood shared that she has had a few problems with showing that she is not the same person on stage that she is off stage. Underwood shared about this issue."When I'm onstage, I am not Carrie: I am Carrie Underwood. Obviously, I would never run off to Vegas and get drunk and marry a guy or trash some guy's car. But everybody has had somebody who's cheated on them or some jerk they dated."In Carrie's song "Before He Cheats," she does talk about trashing a man's car and even smashing out the headlights with a baseball bat. This is not the kind of thing that Carrie would never do in real life, but so many people can relate to this song. If they would actually do this or not, they think about that one guy that they wish they had done this to after being screwed over by them. On November 10, you can get the entire Cosmopolitan magazine and read all of what Carrie Underwood has to say about what is going on. Underwood looks amazing on the front cover, wearing a short black flowered dress. You would never guess that she just had a baby not very long ago.
Tonight, you can catch Carrie Underwood at the CMAs, where she will be hosting alongside Brad Paisley. CMT shared that Carrie calls this show a "labor of love." Carrie shared that they spend a lot of time working on this and getting it ready. Carrie doesn't think people realize how much work actually goes into this show, but it is worth it in the end. Carrie and Brad have a ton of jokes to get ready, along with the music to sing those jokes to, each year. Underwood also always does several costume changes during the night, and even normally performs at least one song. This takes a lot of time, but Carrie doesn't seem to mind every bit of it. This night is something that fans look forward to seeing every single year.
Don't miss Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley tonight on the CMAs on ABC. This show starts at 7 p.m. CST and is going to be 3 hours of great television, full of performances, jokes, and more. Don't miss catching Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, and more at this big event.
