Taylor Swift is seemingly all about her girl squad. She has posed with them on the red carpet, including them in her recent “Bad Blood” music video, and posted tons of pictures on Instagram depicting the adorable crafting and cooking parties they have in her New York City home.
Kendall Jenner, daughter of Kris and Caitlyn Jenner and half-sister of the famous Kardashians, has been known to be one of Swift’s many famous best friends, which makes it especially odd that Taylor was not in attendance at Kendall Jenner’s 20th birthday party on Monday night.
Did Taylor skip Kendall’s party on purpose?
Lots of stars were there, according to the New York Daily News, and her sisters Kylie Jenner and Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian, of course, were all in attendance, as well as mom Kris Jenner. Justin Bieber made an appearance, as did Gigi Hadid, who is another well-known member of Swift’s girl squad. It seems even more strange that Swift wouldn’t attend if additional friends of hers were at the party.
Now, it is possible that Taylor had a good reason for not attending the bash. After all, she is one of the most famous pop stars in the world, and her international “1989 World Tour” still hasn’t finished up yet. However, it’s hard to imagine that other obligations or travel kept Swift away when, according to TMZ, Taylor was spotted that same night at a restaurant not far from the club where Kendall Jenner’s birthday party took place.
Swift was seen leaving a Los Angeles restaurant called The Little Door on Monday night. The restaurant is very close in proximity to The Nice Guy, which is the name of the club where Kendall’s celebration took place. Taylor was seen leaving the restaurant alone and did not speak to any reporters when directly asked a question about a recent lawsuit filed against her for the song “Shake It Off.”
As reported recently by the Inquisitr, R&B singer Jesse Braham is suing Taylor Swift for $42 million because he believes the lyrics to her hit single “Shake It Off” are too similar to those of one of his own songs.
Perhaps Taylor is just really stressed out right now and that’s why she wasn’t in the mood to party with the Jenner clan. Or, maybe, as the New York Daily News pointed out, it has something to do with Swift’s ex-boyfriend Harry Styles.
Taylor and Harry, donned “Haylor” by enthusiastically supportive fans, dated a couple of years ago, and most if not all of Taylor’s most recent album is rumored to be about her relationship with Styles. Earlier this year, however, there was talk about Kendall and Harry being involved. The Inquisitr reported that Kendall and Harry were hanging out together, and since he’s Taylor’s ex, it’s possible that the rumors could have caused some tension between the two women.
Although this is just speculation, one could make the argument that Swift is above getting jealous about her friends breaking “girl code” and dating her exes. For example, Gigi Hadid was recently dating another one of Taylor’s ex-boyfriends, Joe Jonas, and she didn’t seem to have a problem with that relationship. Swift even posted a photo on Instagram of her and most recent beau Calvin Harris hanging out in London with Hadid and Jonas over the summer.
Furthermore, Taylor attended the birthday party that Gigi threw for Joe Jonas back in August. A party that Kendall Jenner also went to, by the way.
What do you think? Did Taylor intentionally blow off Kendall’s 20th birthday party because there’s “Bad Blood” between them, or were the reasons for her absence much more innocent than that?
