Gwen Stefani On Her Blake Shelton Crush And Leaving Gavin Rossdale In The Past

Gwen Stefani may be a uniquely talented recording artist, but that has nothing to do with the attention that the former No Doubt frontwoman has been getting in recent months. Stefani’s personal life has been of great interest to fans ever since her split from husband, Gavin Rossdale. Adding to the intrigue surrounding Gwen are the rumors that the singer has been linked to The Voice‘s Blake Shelton.

This Tuesday, Ms. Stefani appeared as a guest on an episode of On Air With Ryan Seacrest, during which questions regarding her relationship with Blake Shelton inevitably were posed to Ms. Stefani. Though the rumors, innuendos, and questions must surely be annoying the former No Doubt singer, Ms. Stefani exhibited her good nature and a sense of humor as she responded to the question.

“Who is Blake,” joked Stefani, according to Billboard. “The country guy?”

Seacrest wasn’t so easily dissuaded and pressed Gwen further on the subject, inquiring about reports that Stefani had been seen cuddling with Shelton at a Halloween event.

“I’m not going to answer that right now, Ryan. I think I’ve given up enough of myself this morning to you, but I think he’s hot, don’t you?”

Ms. Stefani went on to discuss the shared experiences of divorce she has shared with Blake Shelton, as well as with others who have shared their stories with Gwen. Ms. Stefani admits to being amazed that so many people have gone through circumstances that are so similar to her own.

Stefani says that learning about the experiences of others has helped her to see things in a different light, which ultimately helped Gwen to move forward.

During that same interview, Gwen was much more open about her experiences with her failed marriage to Gavin Rossdale, revealing that the misery of a dying relationship became a common feeling to her long before the news of the divorce was made public. Stefani admits to feeling as though her life was falling apart as early as the 2015 Grammys.

“My life blew up in my face,” Stefani said, reports Entertainment Tonight.

Reasons for the divorce are still unclear. After a 13-year marriage, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale announced their decision to separate in August with the divorce statements citing irreconcilable differences, yet there is still no word on what incident served as the catalyst. Neither Stefani nor Rossdale is coming forward with that one piece of information, making the mystery that much more intriguing, though Gwen has hinted the answer may be found in her new album.

“I feel like I don’t have anything to hide,” Stefani said. “What I will tell you is that I was married for a long time and now I’m not. It was like a shock.”

While “Used to Love You” has been praised for its brutal honesty, Ms. Stefani says that there are other tracks, songs written for that same album, that she “definitely wouldn’t put out, because they were too angry.”

Ms. Stefani wasn’t the only one to feel some of her music was far too personal. Her record company said very much the same thing, adding that even her most die-hard fans wouldn’t be able to relate to the deeply personal lyrics.

Ms. Stefani is in a much different frame of mind now, having moved on from the darkness in which the divorce had left her, and has emerged with a creative flow that seems to know no end. Gwen says she already has 20 songs and still wants to keep writing.
