Scheana Shay On Marital Troubles: ‘This Was Definitely Not The Easiest Year’

Scheana Shay was thrilled to be able to share her wedding on Vanderpump Rules last season. She had planned everything down to the last detail, and only a few things went wrong. Overall, Scheana was thrilled to get married because she was marrying her best friend. Fans watched the proposal at Lisa Vanderpump’s home, and Scheana was busy planning her wedding with the help of her Vanderpump Rules friends.

But there was something that Scheana Shay didn’t know when she married her husband. Apparently, he has been struggling with a pill problem, and this was something she didn’t know anything about. As the trailer for this season was released, fans learned that Scheana was heartbroken over her husband’s drug abuse, and she wanted him to get help.

According to a new Bravo report, Scheana Shay is now revealing that she is seeing the light after a year that has been plagued with marital issues. As fans will see this season, her husband, Mike Shay, continues to struggle with problems — apparently issues she had no idea he had.

“I feel amazing! This was definitely not the easiest year for me as you will see coming up, but I’m in the best place I’ve ever been in. I’m happy, healthy and still madly in love with my husband who is my rock and my best friend in the entire world. I can’t wait to see what else life has in store for us,” Scheana reveals.

Apparently, Shay didn’t realize that her husband was struggling. Her Vanderpump Rules co-stars will confront Scheana’s husband over his drinking. Apparently, he was drinking quite a bit and even popping pills. He admits to Tom Sandoval that he’s been popping pills throughout their entire friendship, and it is something Scheana herself didn’t know.

“He [Mike] needs to get clean. He needs to take responsibility that he married this girl and he needs to get his s—t together,” Lisa Vanderpump reveals in the trailer for Vanderpump Rules that has gone viral, according to 2 Paragraphs.

Many were wondering if Scheana would divorce her husband since he was clearly more invested in partying and taking drugs than being married and working on his career. But it sounds like she is sticking by her husband. During the premiere, fans didn’t get to see the issues she was dealing with. Instead, Tom and Ariana, Scheana’s best friend, was at her party when her nemesis Kristen Doute crashed the party.

“It shouldn’t have affected them at all. There were 100 other people there. Kristen hasn’t bothered them in over a year and never even mentions either of their names anymore. She’s moved on from that and I wish they could to. Our friend group is up and down and very love/hate at times, but at the end of the day there’s more love there! Everyone needs to act like the adults we are and kindly look the other way if someone is there who they don’t like,” Scheana revealed about her own party.

Plus, Scheana may have been a bit nervous about Kristen and James’ relationship. Last year at her wedding, James and Kristen got into a huge fight and Kristen slapped James. Scheana was furious, so it wouldn’t be surprising that she was watching Kristen to see what drama she would bring.

“At first yes, but Kristen, very maturely, removed herself from the situation the second it got heated and he started yelling at her and name calling. I was really proud of how she handled herself. I think after my last several parties and events she’s learned her lesson on how to behave,” Scheana reveals of her Vanderpump Rules co-stars.
