Dancing with the Stars spoilers for Week 8 tease that this could be a tricky week of the competition, and some fans could be left stunned and heartbroken by the upcoming elimination. The couples will be doing performances tied to an icon the celebrity is inspired by, and there is a dance-off ahead as well. Just what is known so far about the November 2 episode?
As ABC teases, the celebrities will “pay tribute to influential figures in their lives” during this Week 8 show. The couple who receives the highest score from the judges will get immunity from being eliminated in Week 9, per the network’s Dancing with the Stars press release for this episode. In addition, they will be given an additional three points heading into next week.
The remaining teams will have to do a dance-off performance. The winning couple in each face-off gets an additional two points. One pair will head home at the end of the night. Who is dancing what in the initial Week 8 performances Monday night?
As PureDWTS shares, Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough will tackle a foxtrot to MIKA’s “Grace Kelly.” Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess will do a contemporary piece to Haley Reinhart’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” while Alek Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold will dance to the Ella Mae Bowen song “Holding Out for a Hero.”
Tamar Braxton and Val Chmerkovskiy will use Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way,” per ABC’s Dancing with the Stars spoilers, while Andy Grammer and Alison Holker get Stevie Wonder’s iconic “Isn’t She Lovely” for their piece.
Alexa PenaVega and Mark Ballas apparently will use Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida” for their Week 8 dance, though PureDWTS indicated that they originally hoped to use a different song that didn’t clear. Alexa’s husband Carlos PenaVega and his partner, Witney Carson, will dance a salsa to Marc Anthony’s “Valio La Pena.”
Who will end up with an edge after Monday’s performance? Many Dancing with the Stars fans suspect that a bit of hype will be given to Nick, as it has just been announced that he is expecting his first child. Though Us Weekly shared the news of Lauren and Nick’s pregnancy, many fans surely will learn of it for the first time via the show. Could that garner them some extra fan votes?
As for which couple will be eliminated Monday night, there seems to be no sure thing at this point. PureDWTS had guessed that Hayes would be most at risk in Week 7, and indeed he was eliminated with his partner Emma Slater. How are things shaping up for Week 8? As the site details, there is quite the cluster after the judge’s points and there are few guarantees of safety in this mix.
If there is one couple who is virtually guaranteed to be safe in this Week 8 elimination, it’s surely Bindi and Derek. Beyond that, the leaderboard shows a tightly-packed list. It takes very little for several of the remaining stars to get enough votes to beat another closely-scored star. Nick is quite likely safe, and Alek may well be too.
What about Carlos, Alexa, Tamar, and Andy? At this point, it’s very hard to predict when the votes put these four on a pretty level playing field. However, many anticipate that the fan bases for both Tamar and Val will keep them dancing for another week, and Carlos’ fan base may keep him in the hunt for the Mirror Ball Trophy as well.
As PureDWTS details, many have a hunch that Alexa and Andy will be the most likely at risk of elimination, with a slight edge perhaps to Andy for elimination. This would be a likely week for some ABC hype of a shocking elimination. However, usually when that is the case, host Tom Bergerson hypes that a lot via Twitter, and so far he’s done nothing along those lines for Week 8.
Who will earn immunity during the Week 8 performances? Which Season 21 pair are heading home? Fans can’t wait to see who rises to the top in this next round of dances on Dancing with the Stars.
