Tottenham Hostpur concludes Round 11 of the 2015-1016 Barclays Premier League live online, as they watch struggling, managerless Aston Villa stagger into White Hart Lane Monday in search of a desperately needed victory to pull themselves off the bottom of the table. The Monday night football match could also see the return from injury of Spurs and England midfielder Ryan Mason the starting XI for Tottenham Manager Mauricio Pochettino — adding to the potential misery for the Villans.
Villa has notched just one league victory so far, with a single draw. The resulting four points place them firmly in the relegation zone — in fact, last in the league — and, according to caretaker manager Kevin MacDonald, “very worried about the situation.”
Only nine previous Premier League sides, since the league began in 1992, have ever opened a season losing eight of their first 10 games. Of those, five have ended the season in the worst possible way — relegated.
“They’re hurting as they’re bottom of the league. Talking to the lads, they believe they can get out of this, without a doubt,” MacDonald told the BBC on Sunday. “They’re determined. When you become a professional sportsman you want to be the best that you can be and be successful. We have a 28-game season. We need to get points, we know that.”
Taking those points from Tottenham Hotspur on Spurs home ground may be a tall order, however. While the London side has won only four of their 10 matches, they also have not lost since August 8, the 2015-2016 Barclays Premier League opener when they fell 1-0 away to Manchester United.
Additionally, Tottenham are riding a wave of momentum coming into the match, coming off a 5-1 destruction of 17th-place AFC Bournemouth on October 25.

Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. at White Hart Lane in London, England — 3 p.m. United States Eastern Standard Time, noon Pacific.
MacDonald will not have long to make his own mark on the team, after Villa gave previous manager Tim Sherwood the boot after just 28 games at the helm — oddly enough, the same number of games he managed after taking Spurs from Andre Villas-Boas in December of 2013.
According to media reports out if the United Kingdom, Aston Villa have already hired former Arsenal star and Olympique Lyonaisse manager Remi Garde. The 49-year-old is expected to be in attendance at White Hart Lane on Monday night after Villa announces his hiring earlier on Monday — though Garde will attend the game, even if his contract is not formalized by kickoff time.
The former French international will likely manage his first game for Aston Villa on Sunday — a difficult debut as Villa takes on table-topping Manchester City. Garde is believed have been offered a three-and-half-year deal by the Birmingham club, but that could turn out to be a long three-and-half-years if he cannot engineer a miraculous turnaround and rescue Aston Villa from the relegation zone.
At least one factor will be working in his favor, and in Villa’s favor against Tottenham on Monday. The team’s 29-year-old Captain Gabriel Agbonlahor has declared himself fully healthy for the Spurs match, after starting only three times in Aston Villa’s 10 matches so far this campaign.
“He has a big responsibility,” Macdonald said. “He knows that. He is club captain. He’s been at the club all his life. This will be hurting Gabby probably more than most because he will not want to be at a football club as big as Aston Villa and get relegated.”
