Nicki Minaj And Perez Hilton Go At It On Twitter Over Video Controversy

Well, Nicki Minaj and Perez Hilton are having a Twitter fight. It began when a video appeared to show Nicki making fun of a disabled person, waving her wand at the woman and commanding her to walk. Some folks thought it was an insensitive move for Minaj to wave her fairy princess wand at the woman down the hall and command her to walk.

One of those folks writing about the viral video was Perez Hilton. But Minaj has slammed those charging her with making fun of the disabled, reports E! Online.

Minaj is using Twitter as she usually does, with Nicki actively tweeting her opinions. This time Minaj is clapping back at folks who’ve seen the video of Nicki hanging out on Halloween at 1 OAK in Las Vegas this weekend, with Nicki saying that the woman she waved her wand at wasn’t a disabled person in a wheelchair, but a friend of hers riding on a scooter.

Perez protested, admitting that he amended his blog post to reflect what Nicki said, and he asked how he was supposed to know that the person wasn’t disabled. Nicki said that Hilton already knew, and used a colorful way to proclaim that fact on Twitter.

B****, u knew. That’s my friend in a scooter. Have a great day. I surely will. ? https://t.co/rRR4lXtV5X

It wasn’t the only controversy that Nicki faced about her social media activity recently. Minaj had recently posted a photo of a Halloween costume that mocked Bill Cosby, as reported by People Magazine. The costume showed a person wearing a mask with Cosby’s face holding a women wearing a blonde wig. The Cosby character was putting drugs into the woman’s drink and had a hand beneath her shirt.

Even though Nicki dissed the costume because of the way it trivialized sexual assault and reduced rape to a joke of a Halloween costume, Minaj still got backlash, reports the New York Daily News. That’s because some of Nicki’s followers felt like Minaj shouldn’t have brought any more attention to the costume than it had already gained. With Minaj’s large following, certain folks felt that Minaj brought many more views to the Halloween costume than it would’ve gotten otherwise. However, Minaj is known to speak out on the things that Nicki wants to speak about on her social media accounts, and she isn’t shy at doing so.

While Minaj and Hilton went back and forth on Twitter over the wheelchair misunderstanding, it appears that the article titled “Nicki Minaj Wands a Wheelchair-Bound Person to Walk” by TMZ, published around noon on Sunday, October 1, was the highly-cited article that brought the most attention to the melee.

Beyond all that controversy, Minaj made news for searching for a #YoungNicki on social media, a girl who would play the young version of Minaj in a new ABC Family comedy that’s set to launch. Minaj will act as executive producer on the TV show about Nicki, as reported by Deadline.

The news that Minaj was searching for a young Nicki to play Minaj as she grew up in Queens, New York, set the web on fire, and caused plenty of girls to post their photos to Twitter and tag Nicki, in hopes they’d star as the younger version of Minaj on TV.
