Lindsay Lohan’s New Co-Star: Porn Star James Deen

It’s not what you think. Lohan isn’t hurting for cash so hard that she’s resorted to porn. The actress is currently on the comeback-trail, and has been cast in her next role opposite leading man (and porn star) James Deen.

Lohan, currently working her wardrobe off playing Liz Taylor in Liz & Dick,has been cast in author Bret Easton Ellis’s thriller Canyons, which is set to shoot in July. Paul Schrader (Taxi Driver, Raging Bull) is attached to direct, with Lohan and porn-star James Deen playing the lead roles, characters named Christian and Tara.

According to Ellis’s Twitter, Canyons covers “five twenty-something’s quest for power, love, sex and success in 2012 Hollywood,” and will require Lohan to appear in her birthday suit. The leads will be required “to act and be full frontal naked b***ing girls and guys, realistically,” warns the American Psycho author. The film will show L.A.’s dark side rather than the glamor we’re treated to by reality TV shows like The Hills.

Deen is the porn industry’s Male Performer of the Year, and has appeared in over 4000 films. He will be playing Christian, who is described as a “handsome, fit, a power player and major manipulator,” who “enjoys setting up three-ways and filming them.”

Ellis confirmed the casting via Twitter, saying, “Shooting THE CANYONS starring James Deen and Lindsay Lohan: July 9-31 in L.A. Could not have dreamed of a better cast. Lindsay nailed it…” continuing, “I am beyond thrilled.”

E! states that while Lohan has indeed been cast, Ellis’s enthusiasm is a bit premature. “Lindsay got the role, she has been cast, and now they’re just working out the details with the lawyers and writers to finalize the deal. She has not signed yet,” said their source. As to why Lohan agreed to star in the film, the source said, “The appeal of this role for Lindsay is getting to work with Paul Schrader,” continuing, “He’s an amazing filmmaker and it’s an amazing role for her. She couldn’t be happier. Although if she’d had a problem with James Deen, she wouldn’t have pursued the role.”

Shooting will take place through the month of July.
