Sydney Spies, Sexy Yearbook Girl, Signs For Lead In Horror Movie

The name Sydney Spies may not strike a bell, she was the student from Durango, Colorado whose sexy yearbook picture was banned form her high school yearbook on account that the yearbook committee found it to be too revealing. Well she has turned that sexy photo into a movie deal with the SyFy channel.

According to CBS4 the horror film will either be called “Final Initiation” or “American Horror House”. The movie will begin filming over the summer and be set to air on Halloween.

Spies says the yearbook issue has definitely helped her in going after a career in film. She recently said in an interview,

“I’m sure I’m not going to get every role, but I think I’ll be prepared — because now, I’ve experienced disappointment,”

Spies had initially submitted a super sexy photo of herself to the yearbook committee and said she wanted it used as her senior photo. She was told by the committee that they decided not to allow the racy photo and she would have to pick another photo. She refused, causing the yearbook committee to use the photo from her student ID.

Immediately after the story was broken by the Denver Herald, Spies and her mother went to the media to stand up for what Spies said was her freedom of expression. Spies had even appeared on the Today Show.

Spies told 9News,

“Some people might think it’s a little bit sexy or inappropriate. But I think it’s artistic. I think it’s a good expression of who I am as a person. I’m a dancer, I’m trying to be a model, I really enjoy photography and I think that this is a good thing to represent me and I think they are taking away my freedom of expression.”
