Ryanair Doppelgangers: Selfie Of Strangers Seated Next To Each Other On Flight Goes Viral Due To Likeness [Photo]

Neil Douglas boarded a Ryanair flight from London to Galway, Ireland, on Thursday before things turned to “total weirdness.” Douglas says he boarded the flight only to discover that his seat had been taken by a stranger. He asked the stranger to move, but when the man in his seat looked up, Douglas was taken aback. The man was looking at what appeared to be a mirror image of himself. The stranger in the seat was his real-life doppelganger. The pair decided to memorialize the strange meeting by taking a selfie together and it immediately went viral.

According to WDAF-TV, Neil Douglas met his doppelganger on a Ryanair flight out of London when he was seated next to Robert Stirling. The pair met when Neil approached his Ryanair seat only to find it was already occupied. When Neil approached the man in his seat he was not expecting to be greeted by someone that had the appearance of a long-lost twin, but he did.

“I asked him to move and when the guy looked up, I thought: ‘Holy s***, he looks like me!'”

The pair acknowledged their stark resemblance and proceeded to take a selfie with one another. Neil then sent the selfie to some friends and family at which point it went viral. A friend of Neil’s wife, Lee Beattie, shared the photo to her Twitter account where it immediately went viral. In fact, since being shared this morning it has already been re-tweeted over 12,000 times.

Meanwhile, things seemingly got weirder for the pair after they left the airport. According to Neil, when he arrived at his hotel in Galway his doppelganger was checking into the same hotel ahead of him.

“I later checked into my hotel in Galway to find my doppelganger checking into the same hotel ahead of me. Total weirdness.”

The strange encounter has garnered attention across the globe and has resulted in numerous other men coming forward claiming they too could be doppelgangers of the pair. Take a look and see if you think any of these guys could join the Ryanair doppelganger club.

The internet is loving all of the Neil Douglas twins and has created a number of memes to celebrate the occasion.

The “beard twins” as they have been deemed on Twitter didn’t end their “relationship” at hotel check-in. With so many encounters they decided to share a few drinks together.

However, as you can tell in the pub photo, there are some very big differences in the “twins,” namely height. One of the doppelganger beard brothers has a few inches on his smaller counterpart.

Though the chance meeting of Neil and Robert has captivated the web. They are not the first people to accidentally, or purposefully, meet their doppelganger. In fact, there was a group of friends that setup a website called “Twin Stranger” with the mission to specifically find their doppelganger. The results were startling.

What do you think of the beard brother Ryanair doppelgangers? Should Neil consider hosting a “Neil Douglas” doppelganger get-together for all of his supposed lookalikes? Have you ever met a person in the real world that you felt could be your doppelganger?
