Han Solo’s ‘Star Wars’ Secrets: Harrison Ford Won’t Speak On Plot But Promises Greatness

Last night, Jimmy Kimmel hosted Han Solo. Star Wars fans, including Kimmel, want plot details. But to Han Solo, Star Wars plot secrets will remain secrets for about one and a half more months.

Dressed like Princess Leia, Kimmel asked Han Solo actor Harrison Ford, dressed like a dog within a hot dog, more specific details, like where Luke Skywalker is on the movie poster. Ford didn’t crack but stated that the reasoning is solid. Star Wars fans are more impatient than ever, even though they will soon get a flurry of Star Wars books that connect with the plot of the new film.

Han Solo did reveal that his scary on-set ankle injury was caused by an accident with the door to the Millennium Falcon, though the police who were called in because of the incident didn’t actually write Millennium Falcon in their reports and instead wrote “garage door.” When you are on set, the scenery used to portray the door to the Millennium Falcon may indeed resemble a garage door, but hopefully it’s made a little fancier for the cinema screen.

As reported by People, the interview was also the first time Harrison Ford spoke about the plane crash in March that almost killed him. He says his memory of the incident is vague due to the many anesthetics he was given after being rescued. It’s no surprise that the man who played Han Solo, Indiana Jones, and the Fugitive walked away alive.

Another talk show host, Stephen Colbert, has already given his prediction of what the plot could be. Colbert is great friends with director J.J. Abrams, not that this makes him any more knowledgeable about the matter. But he did share his predictions with a television viewing audience. Entertainment Weekly reported on the rant.

“It has been three decades since the events of the original trilogy. The dark and mysterious First Order has stepped into the power vacuum once held by the Empire. And the newly named Resistance fights in place of the Rebel Alliance, which has begun a tragic shift to the dark side. But John Boyega’s character is in a Stormtrooper, so it follows that now the new New Hope comes from the very enemy we’ve been trained to hate. Remember, the Dark Side was never explicitly tied to the Empire; the Force itself exists outside of mere temporal authority structures. So I predict that dark becomes light, light becomes dark, and the very fabric of the Force is stretched to its limit as a new generation emerges to tear down the false distinctions of the past and unite all of us: old and new, moisture farmers and nerf herders, star and wars, once and for all, bringing peace to the galaxy.”

Wow. I really hope the actual plot has no relation to the Colbert prediction. Colbert jokingly referred to feeling joy at the reunification of Chewbacca and “Han Solo’s grandfather,” meaning, Han Solo. That may be why Harrison Ford didn’t address Colbert or reveal any Han Solo Star Wars plot tips.

Nobody directly associated with the space epic is speaking, but the numbers speak for the high-level anticipation. When the new Star Wars trailer was introduced during Monday Night Football on October 19, it caused a windfall of advanced ticket sales. Up until that point, there had only been little teaser trailers. This clearer view of the next Star Wars movie caused fans to run to the bank for a down payment on theater seats ahead of the December 18 opening. After 16 million people saw the trailer at the football game, another 112 million people went to view it online. Han Solo, Star Wars, and movie theaters may soon be overwhelmed by the return of the most beloved space epic.
