WWE Rumors: Bill Goldberg Reveals What It Takes For A Rematch With Brock Lesnar At ‘WrestleMania’

Bill Goldberg’s last match in WWE came at WrestleMania XX, and it has now been over 11 years since he stepped foot in one of their rings. Since then, many fans have hoped that he would return and start things up again. There have been talks here and there, but nothing much has ever come of them. Now, Goldberg has revealed exactly what it would take for him to not only return to WWE, but to have a WrestleMania rematch with Brock Lesnar.

Back in January, Goldberg said that he would seriously consider one more match. At the time, he said it would have to be against “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, but it wasn’t likely that it would ever happen. Interestingly enough, Austin has been rumored to have a match next year at WrestleMania 32, but that’s far from confirmed.

In June, it was reported that Goldberg had a talk with Triple H about returning to WWE or his induction into the Hall of Fame. Essentially, that conversation was Goldberg saying his kid wanted to see him wrestle and if WWE wanted him, they could work out a deal the right way.

Since then, nothing has really happened that anyone knows about.

Still, it appears as if there really could be something if the conversations were done properly and a deal was put together respectfully. WrestleZone Radio got the chance to speak with Goldberg and flat-out asked what it would take for him to return to WWE and have a WrestleMania rematch with Brock Lesnar.

“At the end of the day no bulls**t. Just get straight to the point. Let’s talk business. At the end of the day I don’t know what a realistic conversation is with these guys or anybody in the wrestling world for that matter because I haven’t had one in such a long period of time. I don’t know the lay of the land anymore but I know how business is done from back in the day. I know how it should be done now. There’s certain constants that are always there and… I don’t know man. I have no idea what that conversation would be like because I have not thought about it for one second. I don’t know man.”

When all is said and done, Goldberg wants to be shown some respect. The 48-year-old former world champion is in great shape and can still wrestle, and he’d have no problem returning to WWE. He’s not asking for the world in a contract, but he doesn’t want to be insulted either.

As a matter of fact, he’d be content with Triple H or Vince McMahon simply talking to him in a respectful way and getting it all out there on the table.

“A respectful conversation. That’s all. At the end of the day respectful conversation. The ultimate goal is to put smiles on people’s faces, entertain and make some money. That’s it. Nothing beyond that. I’m not asking for green M&M’s or somebody to show up in a G5 and give me steak and lobsters.”

Goldberg’s last match in WWE was that WrestleMania XX bout with Brock Lesnar, and it was one that the fans just rained down on. Everyone was against it and that was evident by the constant boos heard in this video on WWE.com.

Throughout the match, fans chanted “Boring” or “You Sold Out” or “We Want Bret” and even “This match sucks!” After Goldberg won the match, fans still didn’t care about anything going on in the ring until “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, the guest referee, delivered stunners to both men and drove the crowd nuts.

Now, Brock Lesnar is one of the most popular superstars in all of wrestling and has dominated the scene for a few years. Bill Goldberg appears willing to return to WWE and even be part of a big match at WrestleMania, but it’s all about respect and doing things right.
