Selena Gomez Returning To Television In All-New Series

Selena Gomez is returning to television once again, where her entire career started on the hit Disney show Wizards of Waverly Place. TV Line shared the news that a new show called 13 Reasons Why will be coming straight to Netflix, and this is a series that you do not want to miss.

Selena has spent the last few years focusing on her music, but she never stopped loving acting and will be going back to her roots once again. It will actually star Selena Gomez and is based on the 2007 young adult novel by Jay Asher. Gomez won’t just be starring in the show, though. Actually, Gomez is executive-producing the project, along with mom Mandy Teefey, Kristel Laiblin, and Anonymous Content. This is going to be an amazing show, but there is no actual date of when it will be coming out yet.

Variety shared the details of this new Selena Gomez show and exactly what will happen. The show is all about Hannah Baker, who committed suicide. A box of cassette tapes that she recorded are sent to her crush, Clay, by another student after she dies. These tapes are then passed from one student to another, and they explain the 13 reasons why she killed herself. The show was almost turned into a movie, but instead it will now be a 13-episode miniseries on Netflix that stars Selena Gomez. She actually read the book and then realized it had the potential to become more than just a book. She actually brought the book to Anonymous Content for a screen adaptation, and they loved the idea. Now Netflix has joined Gomez in this new show.

This book has been a huge success. 13 Reasons Why is printed in 35 languages and has been on the New York Times bestseller list for eight years straight. This book helps to raise awareness about suicide and also bullying. The original report said that Revival would be her last album, but that is not the case. You never know what she will come up with next, but now Selena Gomez is returning to television, and she will continue to make music.
