‘Star Wars Battlefront’ Launch Trailer Finally Shows Off Han Solo, Bobba Fett, And Other Iconic Characters In Action

When Star Wars Battlefront launches in three weeks, players will be able to take control of more than just standard soldiers from the Rebel and Imperial armies. Gamers will also get the opportunity to play as iconic characters from the films by collecting special in-game power-ups as millions of fans got to see firsthand earlier this month when the Star Wars Battlefront open beta test allowed users to control either Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker.

While those were the only playable heroes that were made available during the beta event, Electronic Arts and developer EA previously confirmed that additional well-known characters would also be featured in the upcoming game. After unveiling the official launch trailer for Star Wars Battlefront, EA also finally gave players their first look at several of the remaining Star Wars heroes in actual gameplay footage.

“These are exciting times for all Star War Battlefront fans across the galaxy, including the teams at DICE, EA, and Lucasfilm. Today, we’re thrilled to present the official release trailer for Star Wars Battlefront, giving you exciting glimpses of your upcoming battles across the battlefront.”

Joining the already father and son team of Luke and Vader, the new trailer finally showed off several of the other famous characters that will appear in Star Wars Battlefront. The video gives gamers an idea of how heroes such as Han Solo, Leia, Boba Fett, and the Emperor will look and play.

In addition to being included as hero power-ups like players saw in the Walker Assault map during the beta test, Star Wars Battlefront will also include a specific mode that was specifically designed with these iconic characters in mind. As Electronic Arts detailed last week, this aptly named Heroes vs Villains mode offers a unique game experience where players across both teams are always controlling one of Star Wars Battlefront‘s hero units.

“Heroes vs Villains is a game mode with short, intense rounds where iconic Star Wars characters will clash in dynamic fights. The matches are divided into rounds, where three players from each team randomly spawn as the Heroes and Villains of Star Wars Battlefront. In other words, you’ll see characters like Luke Skywalker face off against Darth Vader and Boba Fett.”

For those who prefer to fight their galactic wars in the sky rather than on the ground, Star Wars Battlefront will also feature special spaceship pick-ups that allow users to pilot iconic star fighters including Han Solo’s Millennium Falcon or Bobba Fett’s Slave 1. Just as the hero power-ups grant access to powerful new abilities, these famed vehicles will also provide gamers with a powerful boost since these special ships are far superior to the more traditional X-Wing and Tie Fighters that users normally pilot.

“You acquire these ships through pickups on the Fighter Squadron maps. Once you’re behind the sticks, you’ve only got one spawn at your disposal before you’re back in a regular Rebel or Imperial starship – but the extra speed and firepower of Slave I and the Millennium Falcon will make you extra deadly.”

Launching on the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC on November 17, fans now have less than three weeks left before Star Wars Battlefront arrives. Fortunately, this means that there’s still time for gamers to pre-order the game in order to earn some exclusive bonus content. Everyone who purchases a copy of the game ahead of release will receive a special unlock pack that gives players access to a variety of equipment early in the game. Additionally, the Inquisitr also recently compiled a list of every known pre-order bonus that each major retailer is offering.
