‘Game Of Thrones’ Spoilers — Like Jon Snow, These Characters Are Coming Back From The Dead For Season 6

With filming for Season 6 of Game of Thrones now up and running, there has been plenty of speculation on which characters will be making a return as the series enters unchartered waters. Although Jon Snow (Kit Harington) has been at the forefront of characters set to be revived in the new season, there are other characters that had questionable futures. With that in mind, which characters are set to return in Season 6?

Despite taking an entire season off, Bran (Isaac Wright), Hodor (Kristian Nairn), and the Three-Eyed Raven will all be included in the new season. According to Wet Paint, Bran’s inclusion in the new season is for sure, while Hodor and the Three-Eyed Raven are not as certain, but they are likely to appear with Bran.

While it hasn’t been officially announced, it is probable that fans will also see Dorne and his crew make a return appearance in the new season. This means that show will feature more of the Sand Snakes, which includes Areo Hotah, Doran Martell, Ellaria Sand, and Trystane Martell.

Meanwhile, the Christian Post is reporting that Yara Greyjoy (Gemma Whelan) will be featured heavily in the new season. In fact, Whelan has been seen on set while filming continues in Northern Ireland and Spain. The last time Greyjoy was seen in the series was back in Season 4, so her part in the new season is an exciting development that should add more depth to Season 6.

Although it isn’t known what direction the show will take with the character, Greyjoy will likely continue to be a part of the series in future seasons considering her interactions with Theon (Alfie Allen). Back in Season 4, Greyjoy failed to defeat Theon and Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) during a raid on Dreadfort and will likely confront him again now that Theon has been captured by Stannis.

Rounding out the characters set to return for Season 6 of Game of Thrones include The Hound (Rory McCann) and Shae (Sibel Kekilli). However, since both of these characters died in past seasons, it is thought that they will be featured in the new season in flashbacks, rather than their characters being resurrected like Snow.

Speaking of Snow’s resurrection, the questions surrounding his character are certainly the largest and most talked about going into the new season. While most are of the opinion that Snow will be brought back to life after being killed off at the end of last season, it is possible that his character remains dead.

In fact, according to Movie News Guide, Harington’s involvement in the new season will be in the form of flashbacks and a funeral scene and not as a resurrected man. Although this has yet to be confirmed, this would help explain why Harington has been seen on set as filming continues in several locations.

That being said, the character had a lot of things to wrap up that were left unfinished before he was stabbed to death in last season’s finale. With that in mind, even if Snow is only incorporated in flashbacks, fans should get to see plenty of his character as the season continues to develop. Although this will not likely please many who want to see Snow make a full return, it is something to look forward to.

At the same time, Snow may very well be revived and play a pivotal part in the new season. Whether or not this turns out to be the case, it will not likely be revealed until the new season finally hits television next spring.

The new season of Game of Thrones is set to air sometime in early 2016 on HBO.
