Justin Bieber And Halsey Record ‘The Feeling’ Duet For ‘Purpose’ Album

Halsey and Justin Bieber have confirmed they recorded a song, called “The Feeling,” which will appear on the Biebs’ highly anticipated Purpose album.

Based on a tweet shared by the indie goddess after she and the heartthrob separately announced the news, Skrillex produced the duet and may be a co-writer.

The legitimately exciting pair-up was first teased on Twitter by the Biebs’ manager, Scooter Braun, last Friday, when he wrote, “Man people really want @justinbieber and @halsey to have a duet on #Purpose. Hmmmmm.”

At the time, the 21-year-old songstress replied to Braun, writing, “Lol I know the feeling…..”

Fast forward to Tuesday night (October 27), Halsey revealed the song title and its Purpose home at her Badlands Tour show in Columbus, Ohio, while on stage.

Backdropped by screams from the audience, a fan-obtained video of the Halsey’s big reveal shows her turning her back to the crowd before jokingly saying, “Let me make my damn announcement.”

Then she continued, “My name is Halsey, and I’m very excited to announce that I have a song called The Feeling on Justin Bieber’s brand new album Purpose. It comes out November 13! [sic].”

Inevitably, Halsey and Justin Bieber fans went into meltdown on Twitter, either ranting with dismay or delight over the news. Not long after, the pop prince himself jumped online.

Next to a video of his duet partner’s bombshell, the Biebs teased on Twitter and Instagram, “Oh yeah. U guys didn’t know this. Me and @halsey got one on #purpose.”

After Halsey retweeted Justin’s message, she shared another, tagging EDM alchemist Skrillex (who is the primary producer on the Canadian’s upcoming album), revealing his involvement on “The Feeling.”

She wrote, “Let’s go. #TheFeeling @justinbieber @Skrillex”.

Halsey, who was one of the celebrities included in the Biebs’ “What Do You Mean?” celebrity-assisted countdown, later shared two sweet posts about the duet on Instagram and retweeted a few positive messages from fans.

Alongside her JB repost, the “New Americana” singer raved, “Couldn’t be more stoked about this. Owe this dude everything. The world isn’t ready for this album #purpose #thefeeling @justinbieber.”

In another, the New Jersey native shared a cute outtake video, writing, “When ur making a video for @justinbieber and u get nervous and mess everything up. #TheFeeling Preorder #purpose y’allllllllll.”

The Halsey-Justin Bieber duet wasn’t part of the production and songwriting credits unwrapped when the heartthrob put up the Purpose pre-order on October 16. The standard track list includes 14 songs, the deluxe edition has 19. As expected, Jack Ü’s collaboration, “Where Are Ü Now?”, and worldwide No. 1 smash “What Do You Mean?” were on the list. In addition, Ariana Grande guests on a remix of “Mean,” which is only available on November 13 to those who preordered the album.

Other credits revealed Nas, Mike Dean, Ed Sheeran, Travi$ Scott, Big Sean, Blood, and many more are contributors. Meanwhile, back in August, Bieber said Drake is on his album. The new Bieber-Skrillex-Blood banger “Sorry” was also visible on the track list.

Online chatter reveals mixed views on the Halsey-Justin Bieber track from their respective fans and huge interest from music critics and wider media about “The Feeling,” which may filter through to the general public.

As yet, nothing is known about the sound of the duet, but with Skrillex on production duties, this should be interesting. Ahead of possible future snippets, all will be revealed on November 13.

We’re not going to lie. We’re excited about this out-of-the-comfort-zone music meet and everything we’ve heard so far off the Biebs’ Purpose album. What a comeback.
