New ‘Batman V Superman’ Trailer ‘Coming Soon,’ Insists Zack Snyder — But When Will It Be Released?

A brand new trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is coming soon, insists Zack Snyder. And, obviously, Snyder should know because he is not only the man who directed the Man Of Steel sequel, but he has been tasked with forging Warner Bros.’ burgeoning DC cinematic universe.

During his recent talk with 411Mania regarding his work on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, director Zack Snyder opened up about when we will get to see the third trailer for the hugely hyped hybrid blockbuster. And Snyder admitted that it will be coming soon.

Snyder explained, “I think we got to have a trailer soon.”

Unfortunately for comic-book and movie fans across the world, Snyder didn’t provide a specific time, date, and place for when the trailer is actually going to hit.

Screen Crush predicted that the latest trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will actually be released at some point in December. Their evidence for this is that it will be released alongside In the Heart of the Sea, the nautical adventure directed by Ron Howard and starring Chris Hemsworth.

This will also be just three months ahead of Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice’s release date of March 25, 2016, and will be the perfect precursor to the increased publicity for Zack Snyder’s blockbuster.

It had previously been rumored that two brand new trailers for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, one of which would focus on Ben Affleck’s Dark Knight and another of which would revolve around Henry Cavill’s alien, would be released in October and would air on Monday, October 26.

It was speculated by Heroic Hollywood that the trailers would be released to coincide with the premiere of Supergirl on CBS, which would air the Superman-themed clip, while on the same night over on FOX, the Batman trailer would be shown with the new episode of Gotham. However, these rumors proved to be very, very false, as the date for this trailers came and went on Monday, which is probably why we should take these with a huge dose of salt too.

If Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’s trailer is actually released in December, it will air around the same time as Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits cinemas. Throughout the productions of these monumental blockbusters, the films’ directors, J.J. Abrams and Zack Snyder, engaged in some mild-mannered banter.

Last October, Ben Affleck explained to Yahoo News, via Batman News, how the joke started, recalling, “I think it was started because JJ [Abrams] and Colin Anderson, who is a great [camera] operator who always works on my movies, and JJ is always trying to steal, and I’m trying to steal back, sent me a picture of the two of them wearing cheap Batman masks. I showed it to Zack [Snyder] and said, ‘This is bulls***, we have to do something.'”

The “something” that they had to do was post an image of Henry Cavill’s Superman as a Jedi. And it was rather spectacular.

This wasn’t the only bit of fun that J.J. Abrams and Zack Snyder had with each other regarding their films. You can check out their variety of images below.

And after being asked by 411Mania if we can expect their rivalry to increase leading up to the releases of both Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Snyder insisted that even though he doesn’t have any plans to, he is still “hoping to” do something.
