Rihanna may have promised an imminent release for her eighth studio album, ANTI, but can we expect Rihanna to drop the highly anticipated record as early as next week?
Rumors surrounding ANTI's release date have been making the rounds since last year, but it looks like speculation regarding Rihanna's new album continues to grow as Rihanna approaches the three-year mark since releasing her last album, Unapologetic, in November, 2012.
With Rihanna having unveiled the cover art for ANTI just weeks ago, along with promises that ANTI is "coming soon," fans have begun to speculate that Rihanna will follow her historic trend of releasing her albums in November and drop ANTI sometime next month.
Now, speculation regarding a release date for Rihanna's new album continues to escalate as sources close to Rihanna have taken to Instagram to tease a November 6 release date for ANTI, despite several outlets having already denied rumors of a first-week release for Rihanna's album.
According to PopCrush, Glass John, who produced one of Rihanna's rumored ANTI tracks, "Kiss It Better," took to Instagram last week to throw support behind the November 6 release date rumors.
In John's Instagram post, the producer shares a photo of ANTI's cover art before telling Rihanna's fans, "#ANTI…Nov. 6th is my real birthday<3."
While John neglected to offer any more information regarding the cryptic Instagram message, Rihanna's fans were swift in sharing some not-so-subtle threats to those speculating over a false release date.
One fan wrote in the comments section of John's photo, "… if you're lying … the navy will find you and do unspeakable things."
Similarly, Rihanna's rumored boyfriend, Travis Scott, has been posting more photos of Rihanna with the hashtag "#ANTI" on his personal Instagram account, leaving some fans to believe that Scott is further fueling the hype surrounding Rihanna's ANTI album.
Travis also caught the attention of Rihanna fans over the weekend after he altered his Instagram bio to hint that Rihanna's album is coming "sooner" than expected.
Rumors of a November 6 release date for Rihanna's ANTI album comes just days after various media outlets shut down the claims via statements from Rihanna insiders.
Billboard reported earlier this month that according to sources close to Rihanna, a November 6 release for ANTI is "not the correct date" before alleging that it's also unlikely that Rihanna will drop ANTI the following week due to competition from One Direction's Made in the A.M. and Justin Bieber's Purpose album.
However, Rihanna's fans have also speculated that with the news of Adele planning to drop her highly anticipated 25 album on November 20, Rihanna is likely to drop ANTI before Adele releases 25 in order to avoid competition on the Billboard 200 chart.
The heightened rumors regarding Rihanna's new album comes just days after Rihanna gave fans a surprise performance during CBS Radio's "We Can Survive" concert over the weekend.
While Rihanna gave an electric performance of a medley of her greatest chart-topping hits from previous albums, Rihanna's fans expressed their disappointment over Rihanna's decision to not tease at least a snippet of a new track off of ANTI during the event.
Travis Scott later teased Rihanna fans on Instagram by sharing a photo of Rihanna from the event with the simple caption, "An-ti," leading some to believe that Scott may be hinting at either a collaboration on Rihanna's new album or further dropping hints that ANTI will hit stores in the coming weeks.
While Rihanna continues to keep quiet regarding the rumors surrounding ANTI's release, it looks like Rihanna fans will be keeping a close watch on Rihanna's social media pages when November 6 rolls around next week.
