Rob Kardashian’s Kidney Turned Down By Lamar Odom? Plus, Khloe Kardashian Thinks He’s ‘Wasting His Life’

Rob Kardashian reportedly offered his kidney to Lamar Odom after news of his possible need of a kidney transplant hit the web. According to a Daily Mail report on Monday, October 26, Rob Kardashian was prepared to do undergo surgery to save his brother-in-law, who has been under medical care since October 13, when he was found unconscious at a brothel in Las Vegas.

Rob Kardashian spoke out on Instagram after hearing the tragic news about Odom, telling fans he was praying nonstop for his “brother.” And while he doesn’t appear to have visited Odom in the hospital, he has reportedly given him a number of pairs of socks to keep him more comfortable, and stepped out in Los Angeles on the day of his transport from Las Vegas’ Sunrise Hospital to West Hollywood’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Since Odom has been in Los Angeles, it has been confirmed that he is on dialysis, and while he isn’t in immediate need of a kidney transplant, it is a possibility for the future, which is why Rob Kardashian has reportedly made himself available for testing. However, according to a separate report, Odom has no plans to take a kidney from Rob Kardashian, despite his potential need.

On October 27, a source revealed the following to Hollywood Life.

“That really touched Lam’s heart. While it’s the most generous offer anyone’s ever given Lamar, he doesn’t think he can take [Rob Kardashian]’s kidney.”

According to the source, Odom’s reasoning behind his rumored refusal is his concern for Rob Kardashian. Like any surgery, a kidney transplant comes with risks, and Odom simply couldn’t live with himself if anything were to happen to his brother-in-law.

“He wouldn’t want to put [Rob Kardashian] and the rest of the Kardashian family through all that stress. If something were to go wrong with [Rob Kardashian]’s surgery, that would be the end of Lamar as we know it! He couldn’t live with himself. He could never look Khloe or any of the Kardashian/Jenner women in the face.”

The source went on to explain that Odom already feels like he’s brought unwanted stress to the Kardashian family, so the last thing he wants to do is put Rob Kardashian’s life at risk.

In a new interview, Khloe opened up about her reclusive younger brother, with whom she’s lived with for most of her life.

“He’s such a great guy,” Khloe told People Magazine, via Hollywood Life, of Rob Kardashian. “That’s what’s so infuriating. I’m like, ‘Where is your will to live? Let’s be around people!’ But I can’t win life for [Rob Kardashian]. I have to wait until he’s ready to get to a place where he can do it himself. It’s sad, because he’s only wasting his life more and more.”

For the last several years, Rob Kardashian has struggled with weight gain and depression, and according to Khloe, her split from Odom may have had something to do with his battles. Although Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce, served as a father figure for Rob Kardashian for many years, it was Odom who really took on the role when he and Rob began living together, along with Khloe.

“Once Lamar left — and it’s not Lamar’s fault at all — I think [Rob Kardashian] didn’t know where to go. He was like, ‘I don’t have guidance anymore.’ “

Rob Kardashian is rumored to have filmed scenes for the upcoming 11th season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, which begins airing on Sunday, November 15, at 9 p.m. on the E! Network.
