NFL Picks Week 8: Experts Predict Seattle Destroys Dallas

NFL picks for Week 8 favor the Seattle Seahawks to beat the Dallas Cowboys again. The Week 8 NFL picks come from the football experts at CBS Sports, with the initial predictions almost unanimous in favor of the Seahawks. The road game is on Sunday, November 1, and it might again be a must-win for the two-time defending NFC champions. Beating the San Francisco 49ers improved the Seahawks to 3-4 in the latest NFL standings, but even that impressive 20-3 win at Levi’s Stadium showed some struggles on offense.

The Cowboys have fallen into last place in the NFC East after losing to the New York Giants in Week 7. Drama on the sidelines with Greg Hardy has dominated the narrative for this team, just weeks after the roster got decimated by injuries. While the Cowboys are still just one-and-a-half games out of first place in the division, time is also starting to run out on them. The game against the Seahawks, especially at home, has also become a must-win situation for Dallas.

Several of the Week 8 NFL picks from the CBS Sports experts are unanimous in favor of one team. Those games predict the New England Patriots will beat the Miami Dolphins, the Arizona Cardinals will beat the Cleveland Browns, the New Orleans Saints will beat the New York Giants, and the Carolina Panthers will beat the Indianapolis Colts. The Carolina vs. Indianapolis game is on Monday, November 2, with the Panthers trying to stay undefeated on the season. The Panthers will be 7-0 with a Week 8 victory.

Several of the other games are also very one-sided in favor of one team. Those match-ups have the Atlanta Falcons beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the St. Louis Rams beating the San Francisco 49ers, the Baltimore Ravens beating the San Diego Chargers, and the Seattle Seahawks beating the Dallas Cowboys. Each of those games takes place on Sunday, but the CBS Sports analysts did not submit a prediction for the Tennessee Titans vs. Houston Texans game. They also didn’t submit an NFL Week 8 pick for the Green Bay Packers vs. Denver Broncos.

The Green Bay vs. Denver game takes place Sunday night on NBC and serves as a battle of two unbeaten teams. Both teams are at 6-0 on the season and easily leading their respective divisions. The Packers have scored 164 points and given up just 101 points, while the Broncos have scored 139 points while giving up 102 points. Denver certainly has a small advantage by playing the game at home, but Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is on the short list to win the next NFL MVP Award.

For the rest of the Week 8 NFL picks, the CBS Sports experts have submitted predictions slightly in favor of one team over the other one. Those games have the New York Jets beating the Oakland Raiders, the Kansas City Chiefs beating the Detroit Lions, and the Minnesota Vikings beating the Chicago Bears. Another win by the Vikings would improve the team to 5-2 and give it a stronger hold on one of the NFC wild card spots. Another win by the Atlanta Falcons would improve that team to 7-1 and an even stronger hold on the other NFC wild card.

The four teams with byes in Week 8 are the Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars, Philadelphia Eagles, and Washington Redskins. The Thursday night game on October 29 is the Miami Dolphins vs. the New England Patriots, with Tom Brady looking to get his team to 7-0 on the season. Another London game is also taking place, with Detroit vs. Kansas City being played at 6:30 a.m. PT on Sunday. The full Week 8 NFL picks from CBS Sports have been submitted early this time, but the experts could shift predictions based on injury reports later in the week.
