Real-Life Nightmare On Elm Street? Woman’s Makes Disturbing Discovery In Backyard Of New Home On Elm Street in TX

The spirit of Halloween usually reaffirms everyone’s love for classic horror films like Nightmare On Elm Street and its infamous villain, Freddy Krueger. Nightmarish films, ghostly tales, and urban legends are heard throughout the month of October as millions of people attend events dressed as ghouls, goblins, and other terrifying characters.

But, imagine if the nightmare weren’t fictitious. What if the nightmares and tales were real? The disturbing series of events that recently took place in Mission, Texas have one resident quite perplexed. Several news reports have revealed that an eerie occurrence really did take place on Elm Street and the details have left social media users a bit spooked.

According to The Blaze, Deedee Oliveira was completely stoked about her new home on Elm Street. Like most Americans, the purchase of a home gets you one step closer to the American dream. She’d reportedly hired workers to complete renovations for her new home. Initially, the renovation process was relatively typical but, things took a disturbing turn when the works hit a hard object buried underground in her back yard.

On the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 20, the workers dug up what initially looked like a box, but quickly learned it was something else. During a news interview with KGBT, Oliveira recounted the turn of events that led to the shocking discovery. ”

“It’s just a crazy story,” she told the news station. “They called, and they let my dad know first that they found a box,” Oliveira told the station. “And so my dad said, ‘OK, we’ll move the box later so you can finish.'”

What workers initially thought was a box turned out to be a rusted, four-foot coffin. Needless to say, Oliveira found the discovery quite disturbing. Is her home a real-life nightmare on Elm Street?

“I’m like, ‘A coffin? What do you mean a coffin?'” Oliveira said. “I can’t even explain it, it was huge, it had the handles. It was really rusted, and it had bags wrapped around it.”

Following the discovery, Oliveira immediately contacted the Mission Police Department. Investigators with the department’s Special Crimes Unit were dispatched to the Elm Street home. After surveying the area around the coffin, they revealed a number of other items had been discovered.

“They had seen little booties and pink little bears and then one of the guys said that he had seen bones,” Oliveira said.

Almost immediately, Olivera feared the worst. Her dream home had become a real “nightmare on Elm Street” in a matter of minutes, but an enlightening chat with a neighbor changed everything. The neighbor reportedly revealed the previous resident had a love for dogs, cocker spaniels to be more specific. Some of the Elm Street residents even believe the coffin may have been buried in the backyard for more than 30 years.

“My new neighbor told me that the people that used to live here had a funeral for a pet, but it was for a cocker spaniel and those are pretty small dogs. We were like wait, a dog can’t possibly be in that large coffin,” Oliveira said.

Once the coffin was opened, officials confirmed dog remains were inside, reports KGBT. Along with the coffin, a buried toolbox was also discovered and officials confirmed cat remains were in that box. Although the shocking incident isn’t exactly a scene from a horror film, it definitely had all of the suspenseful makings of a potentially disastrous outcome. Luckily, all is well on Elm Street, but Oliveira admits her home is quite different from others.

“Who can say they have found a coffin in their backyard?” Oliveira said.
