‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Continues To Intrigue Fans As New Rumors Emerge About Characters

The latest trailer for the new Star Wars movie The Force Awakens was released last week, leading to more speculation about the plot twists to happen in the movie and the fate of the characters. Rumors about the movie have continued to intrigue fans as director J.J. Abrams continues to release details about the movie, which debuts in theaters across America on December 18.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, rumors about Star Wars 8 have already started to emerge, as it was revealed that Hayden Christensen, who starred as Darth Vader and Anakin Skywalker in Episodes 2 and 3, may return in Episode 8 in the role of Darth Vader. Fans have also speculated that Han Solo will die in Episode 7 and that Luke Skywalker, the only remaining Jedi, will turn to the dark side. Fans have even speculated that Luke Skywalker is the villain in the latest Star Wars movie, and he is really the person behind the mask worn by character Kylo Ren.

Digital Spy offered a list of what they considered to be some of the craziest rumors floating around about Star Wars 7, showing that fans are reading into every detail from the movies posters to the latest trailers. Since family is important in the Star Wars universe, some fans have speculated that the latest episode will reveal a new family tie between the female character Rey and the villain Kylo Ren. Are they sister and brother, and who are their parents: Luke Skywalker or Leia and Han Solo?

Although the possibility exists that the two are related, based on Star Wars cannon, Luke Skywalker would probably not be their father. Jedi are usually single, the exception being Anakin Skywalker as he chose to secretly marry Senator Amidala at the end of Episode 2.

One often repeated rumor is that beloved character Han Solo, who was once a smuggler, will die at the end of Episode 7. After the release of the latest trailer, fans now speculate that Han Solo won’t die at all, that it will be his beloved friend Chewbacca.

One of the most important rumors is that Luke Skywalker will turn to the dark side. Fans speculated that the antagonist, Kylo Ren, is really Skywalker and that his goal will be to bring balance to the Force by turning dark. Rumors have also surfaced that the plot hinges on the recovery of Luke’s lightsaber, which was lost during Episode 5 when Darth Vader cut off his hand. The light saber has supposedly been floating through space for decades and lands on Jakku, where it is recovered by characters Rey and Finn.

Tech Insider reported several new revelations for fans that came from the new Star Wars trailer. One revelation that is sure to please fans is that Princess Leia and Han Solo are now married and have been reunited. Finn, who was previously a Storm Trooper, breaks away from the dark side to join up with the rebels. Although it is still unclear how he acquired it, Finn will get the light saber previously owned by Luke Skywalker.

Of course, no Star Wars movie would be complete without the addition of new droids. The latest includes a very large droid with goofy hands while BB-8 makes an appearance. Speculation arose that his name comes from an album previously released by the Beastie Boys, and his name makes reference to the Beastie Boys.

Finn, Chewbacca, and Han Solo will definitely find themselves in some sort of trouble as one of the clips from the trailer reveals. It’s uncertain whether or not it will occur early in the movie. They will return with the Millennium Falcon, Han Solo’s ship, and they’ll take fire from an unknown source.
