Phillip Phillips Married? ‘American Idol’ Singer Weds Hannah Blackwell
Singer Phillip Phillips is officially off of the market!
People magazine reports that the past American Idol winner reportedly married his longtime girlfriend Hannah Blackwell on Saturday.

According to the report, Blackwell exchanged vows with Phillip Phillips while wearing a Hayley Paige wedding gown. The man that she can now call her husband reportedly wore a Billy Reid tux.
The wedding ceremony took place in Albany, Georgia – Phillip’s hometown – at the Resora Plantation. Phillip and Hannah crossed over into the world of matrimony with 250 of their closest family members and friends in attendance.
The “Home” singer opened up about his feelings as a newly married man in an interview – including what he loves most about his longtime girlfriend and new wife.
“I’m so excited. What I love most about her is she’s my best friend and I can tell her anything. I just love her.”
Phillips and Blackwell first met nearly seven years ago at an event for Mission Change, his sister’s charitable organization.
Blackwell opened up in a recent interview about her feelings for Phillip when they first met and how he was essentially a missing puzzle piece for her that was a good fit.
“I feel like when I met Phillip, he was the answer to so many questions that I had. He just makes everything make sense for me.”
Phillip Phillips and Hannah Blackwell started dating long before Phillip became an international superstar after winning the 11th season of the hit singing competition television series, American Idol.
After the season finale, according to Us Weekly, the 25-year-old crooner did not hesitate to pay credit to his longtime girlfriend for helping him through the televised journey.
“She is really excited for me and she’s helped me out a lot through this. I’m hoping she’ll maybe be able to go on tour. It would be cool having her, she’s supported me so much. Love her, love her to death.”
Years later, after Phillip Phillips was able to turn his impressive victory into a successful music career, he apparently still felt the same way about Hannah’s support. In a November 2014 interview with Elle magazine, he even went as far as saying that Hannah was smarter than him.
“My girlfriend is a lot smarter than me so she comes on the road and handles some of the business aspects. She meets me at some points. Like I said, she’s smarter than me and likes to read so she goes over things I look past.”
Phillip Phillips decided to take their relationship to the next level in December 2014 when he popped the question. Fortunately, Hannah Blackwell accepted the proposal and even posted a photo of her engagement ring alongside a old throwback picture of herself on Christmas in 1995.
“I’ve been dreaming of this for over 20 years. I’ve been dreaming of this guy for just that long. Overwhelmed with happiness.”
Phillip Phillips was a fan favorite during his run on American Idol. Between his impressive voice and his even more impressive guitar playing skills, it was apparently clear to many Idol fans and critics that he would go far in the competition.
However, his health issues – including kidney stones – made it difficult to determine whether he would be able to physically make it very far in the final stage of the competition. According to ABC News, Phillips was taken to a doctor after performing among the Top 13 contestants.
Before long, Phillips was performing on the season finale among the Top 3. His coronation song, “Home,” quickly became one of his most memorable singles to date. Now that he is a married man, perhaps Phillip Phillips will write a new hit single about his wife.
