‘iZombie’ Season 2: Rose McIver And Malcolm Goodwin Discuss Clive’s Cooking, The Future Of Peyton And Major

iZombie season 2 has already started off with a bang, and the direction of the season is certainly going full speed ahead. The Inquisitr reported in May that iZombie and its lead star, Rose McIver, would rise again for season 2, now being one of the three zombie shows on TV. According to Design and Trend, iZombie season 2 will explore Clive Babineaux a lot more than season 1. Malcolm Goodwin says that you learn who Clive Babineaux is, and his many talents.

“You learn about who he is…. That episode kind of felt like a love letter to Clive; that’s what Rahul [Kohli] kept calling it,” Goodwin said, via ComicBook.com. “And it just brings us together — Clive, Liv and Ravi [Kohli] together — more closely. Yeah, there’s so many cool talents that [Clive] had that I didn’t know and I found out and it was exciting to learn about.”

Rose McIver (Liv Moore) explained that iZombie season 2 explores Clive so intimately that fans will find out about his cooking, and apparently, he can cook. Goodwin confimed that he and his iZombie character can both cook, according to Comicbook.

“Oh, yeah, I can definitely throw down. I can cook in real life. Maybe not as good as Clive, but close enough, but yeah, there’s so many cool talents that he had that I didn’t know and I found out and it was exciting to learn about. That episode kind of felt like a love letter to Clive; that’s what Rahul kept calling it. And it just brings us together — Clive, Liv and Ravi together — more closely.”

Of all the characters on iZombie, Peyton and Major have had the most drastic, major changes from season 1 to season 2. Rose McIver explained that she and Major, despite all the animosity over the past several episodes, are from over and done with.

“I get so tired of defending Liv because she’s kind of really had a hard run herself, when she’s having to explain herself to Peyton, she’s having to explain herself to Major, to everybody all the time. She’s done the best she can, and the writers have definitely made sure that we can still exist in the same world. I don’t want to give you too many spoilers because I think it’s too fun to enjoy how that actually plays out. But he lives with my colleague and we’re very much exes who didn’t want to ever separate so it’s not done.”

McIver also stated that Major is not the only main character in iZombie season 2 that Liv could be reuniting with. At the end of the last episode, Liv received a token of recognition for her birthday that everyone else seemed to forget about. iZombie fans were not given much in the way of definitive proof that it was her former roomie and bestie, Peyton, but Rose McIver seems to clear that mystery up.

“Yeah. I think that birthday cake, it’s an olive branch. It’s a gesture and it speaks volumes for her saying, ‘I don’t know how I’m going to process this or how to make sense of it just yet, but I’m here and this isn’t over.’ Again, these are huge pills for Liv’s close friends and intimate relations. All of those people are having to handle a lot and I think I understand that that’s not something we can expect overnight.”

Rose McIver’s Liv Moore will obviously have more than one relationship to repair in iZombie season 2, but the show’s optimism tends to out-weigh the darker elements. It will certainly to be interesting to see how their new relationships will affect the show on the whole.
