Situation Why Rumor Of K-Drama Star Kim Soo Hyun And Former ‘Wonder Girls’ Member Sohee Dating Manifested Revealed By ‘One Night’

In the world of Korean dramas and movies, one Hallyu Star who seems to be on everyone’s radar is Kim Soo Hyun. Starting his career back in 2007 with a role in Kimchi Cheese Smile, Soo Hyun has since matured in his career with unforgettable roles in Moon Embracing the Sun, My Love from the Star, and Producer. Because of his popularity, it is only natural many who follow the Hallyu Wave would want to know the latest details on Soo Hyun’s life, especially his relationships.

Staying on that particular subject, it was believed Kim Soo Hyun and Sandara Park (simply known as Dara of K-pop group 2NE1) were actually together for the longest time. Such rumors came about only because Dara had guest roles in Soo Hyun’s last two K-dramas including Producer. However, there were new rumors that Soo Hyun and Ahn Soo Hee (better known as Sohee formerly of K-pop group Wonder Girls) were dating. Right now, said rumors have been denied, but what has caused people to believe the two Hallyu Stars were dating in the first place? Thankfully, Korean news program One Night shed light on the situation that caused such a rumor to manifest in the first place.

Before jumping into the details provided by One Night, it should be brought up that the rumors of Kim Soo Hyun and Sohee dating first began on Sunday, October 18, 2015. According to a translation from a report by Korean media outlet TV Report, it was suggested that Soo Hyun and Sohee were dating for some time. They even used anonymous quotes of neighbors in Sohee’s apartment complex where they claim they saw Soo Hyun repeatedly visit her.

More fuel was added to the rumor fire when news broke that Key East, the agency Kim Soo Hyun is signed to, signed on Sohee on Sunday, September 30, 2015. Apparently, an anonymous source claims Sohee joined Key East on Soo Hyun’s suggestion.

However, Key East was quick to verify if the rumors of Kim Soo Hyun and Sohee dating were true or not. After conferring with both parties, they were given a definite answer that both Soo Hyun and Sohee were not dating but do know each other.

“We’ve confirmed with Kim Soo Hyun and Ahn So Hee and the news is not true. It is true that they know each other but they are not dating.”

According to KdramaStars, the Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS) news program One Night reported a collective of incidents that helped push such a rumor on Wednesday, October 21, 2015. The foreshadows for such a rumor began back in 2013 when Sohee attended a VIP screening of Soo Hyun’s movie Secretly, Greatly. It is believed that Sohee’s attendance — which is only available through special invite — had nothing to do with Soo Hyun, but the fact that at the time he expressed his love for Wonder Girls is a peculiar detail.

In hindsight, everything mentioned by One Night may be happenstance. However, a lot of relationships of popular Korean stars usually happen by such an instance. As an example, it is a 100 percent guarantee that IU did not expect she would be in a relationship with Jang Ki Ha when she made an appearance on his radio show, but now they are together. For this rumor however, the only thing fans of Soo Hyun and Sohee can do is take their word that they’re not dating.

Presently, Kim Soo Hyun is confirmed to play the character Jang Tae Young in the upcoming 2016 action thriller Real. Sohee, who was formerly a member for K-pop group Wonder Girls (and whose biggest hit with the group was “Nobody,” attached above), is also busy with acting endeavors as she will star in the upcoming Bound in Busan.
