Jessa Duggar Seewald Talks Adoption, Finds Way To Get Her Brothers And Jim Bob Back On TV

Jessa Duggar Seewald hasn’t given birth to her first child yet, but the pregnant star of Jill & Jessa: Counting On is already making plans for the second addition to the Seewald family. However, Jessa isn’t expanding her family the usual Duggar way — instead of immediately trying to get pregnant again after giving birth, she and husband Ben Seewald are going to adopt a child.

Jessa Duggar shared her adoption plans in a post on the Duggar Family Blog. She revealed that she and Ben have been busy researching the adoption process, and they’ve also been talking to other parents who have adopted. However, Jessa and Ben are taking a break from their adoption preparations while they get ready for the arrival of their first biological child in early November.

“We plan within this next year to take some adoption classes and begin working towards this goal,” Jessa Duggar revealed.

Jessa’s parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, were also eager to see their family grow after they got married. However, not one of their 19 kids is an adopted child. Some might see the Duggars as being selfish for having so many biological kids instead of adopting a few here and there whenever Michelle started feeling broody, so perhaps this is why Jessa passionately praised her parents in the blog post.

“I think that just as my parents did for me, I want to provide opportunities for my children to reach out to people around them and offer hope and comfort to those in need,” Jessa wrote.

“My parents were such great examples of this to me—getting us involved in community outreach from a young age and providing us opportunities to give back to people in our lives. My parents have huge hearts, and they’re so attentive to the needs of people around them.”

Jessa Duggar revealed that she first became interested in adoption when she and her siblings volunteered at a children’s shelter. She saw that so many of the kids were “hungry for love,” and she wanted to do something to help them. Jessa also seems to believe that adopting a child would be a great way to teach her biological children about the importance of helping the less fortunate.

“I want to provide opportunities for my children to reach out to people around them and offer hope and comfort to those in need,” Jessa said.

Adopting might also help Jessa Duggar score another TLC special. As the Inquisitr previously reported, she and her older sister Jill are set to star in a series of TV specials titled Jill & Jessa: Counting On. Right now there are only three specials in the works, with the first set to air in December. TLC is probably testing the waters in the wake of the Josh Duggar sexual molestation scandal that led to the demise of the Duggar family’s reality series, 19 & Kids and Counting. If the first three specials centered on Jill and Jessa are successful, TLC may order future specials centered on the girls. It’s even possible that the network will decide to give the girls their own reality series.

Jessa and Jill were the only Duggars who appeared in the first promo for Jill & Jessa: Counting On. However, it looks like Jessa found a way to help her mother, father, sisters, and brothers score a little TV time. According to PEOPLE, TLC recently filmed Jessa’s unconventional baby shower. She decided to make the shower co-ed, which means that Jim Bob Duggar and some of Jessa’s brothers were there. Us Weekly reports that Jessa’s male relatives also got a chance to ham it up for the cameras during the baby shower — there was a milk drinking competition for the guys.

Do you think TLC will film Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald going through the adoption process for future Jill & Jessa: Counting On episodes?
