Safaree Samuels To Diss Ex Nicki Minaj And Meek Mill In New Music Video, ‘Shade Room’?

Safaree Samuels and Nicki Minaj may have ended their longtime relationship nearly one year ago, but it looks like Safaree is still committed to dissing Nicki Minaj and her relationship with rapper Meek Mill, as Safaree teases the impending release of his music video for “Shade Room.”

Just months after Meek Mill dissed Nicki Minaj’s ex on social media by claiming that Safaree is gay, Samuels announced the release of his new track, “Shade Room,” while also dropping some not-so-subtle hints about who served as his inspiration behind the track, The Boom Box reports.

While Safaree doesn’t blatantly mention Meek Mill or Nicki Minaj by name in his diss track, Samuels seemingly alludes to his former relationship with Nicki by referring to her as “the black Britney Spears” before dissing Meek Mill for reportedly needing to dye his hair in order to cover up the grey.

In one line from “Shade Room,” Safaree raps “I entertain, I’m so set / Y’all n****s starve, I’m so fed / I used to have the black Britney Spears / But I couldn’t be the black K Fed.”

Safaree, who served as both Nicki Minaj’s hype man and boyfriend for 12 years, hints that Nicki Minaj broke up with him because he wasn’t famous enough in the industry to help boost Nicki’s career.

Meanwhile, Safaree Samuels shades Meek Mill with the line, “No Mountain Dew, but it’s Code Red / No Skeletor, you a bonehead / Heard you dye your hair, you an old head.”

Just weeks after dissing Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill in his latest diss track on the couple, Safaree has taken to Instagram to announce that he’s almost ready to drop the music video for “Shade Room,” leading some fans to believe that another Nicki and Meek diss is on the way, The Shade Room reports.

While Safaree neglected to elaborate on his plans for the video, some fans allege that Samuels may take inspiration from Drake’s “Hotline Bling” music video in which Drake reportedly disses Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill by dancing on a Nicki-lookalike in the video.

This isn’t the first time that Safaree has lashed out at his ex, Nicki Minaj, for her growing romance with Meek; Safaree made headlines earlier this year after he blasted both Nicki and Meek in his scathing track, “Lifeline.”

In the song, Safaree disses Nicki Minaj’s boyfriend by implying that Meek is intimidated by Drake’s musical success before hinting that Nicki tried to prevent him from having his own rap career.

Later in the track, Safaree further shades Nicki Minaj by implying that she was unfaithful in their longtime relationship, prompting Nicki to speak out against Safaree’s claims on Twitter earlier this summer.

“Lesson: don’t cheat on a loyal woman. God will punish u. When he does, tell people the truth. The truth may set u free. Love. Always.”

While Nicki took a softer approach in responding to Safaree’s accusatory rap, Minaj had a strikingly different reaction to Samuels’ claims that he wrote the majority of her raps from her latest album, The Pinkprint.

Just days after Meek Mill put Drake on blast for his alleged use of a ghostwriter, Safaree Samuels seemed to get in on the duo’s feud by implying that he has been responsible for penning Nicki’s raps while they were dating.

In response to Safaree’s claims, Nicki lashed out at Samuels during a live concert in which she rants to her fans, “You don’t even know how to pronounce these mother******* words in my mother******* rap, b****! A b**** a** n**** can’t write my raps, you know why? You don’t have the heart or the mindframe or the mother******* intellect b**** n****!”

Nicki Minaj has yet to respond to or comment on Safaree Samuels’ latest diss track, “Shade Room.”
