DeSean Jackson Home Invasion Incident Could Be Gang Related

DeSean Jackson has a great job in the NFL, but he appears willing to let that all go away because he cannot get rid of his ties to the streets.

According to TMZ, the house in Tarzana, a suburb of Los Angeles, that DeSean Jackson owns was recently invaded by intruders. Jackson was not home at the time, but there were reportedly six people staying there that night. Since the NFL season is still going on, Jackson spends much of his time in Virginia, where the Washington Redskins are headquartered.

Police say that on early Wednesday morning, approximately four or five people stormed into the house. They immediately began physically assaulting the occupants inside. Fortunately for DeSean Jackson, the occupants were able to eventually fight back to the point where the intruders left the home of the Washington Redskins star.

There were no casualties involved in the skirmish. However, authorities have revealed that at least one person was pistol whipped. Minor injuries were reported on the various occupants. There are also no reports of shots being fired during the incident.

This does not appear to be a random incidence of violence. Police believe that the intruders have been in the home of DeSean Jackson before. They appeared to have known the exact locations of all the security cameras. Police have several leads, which possible means that the two sides knew one another.

Right now, it is being said that DeSean Jackson was not the target of the attack. Someone associated with Jackson was reportedly the actual target. The intruders more than likely knew that the Washington Redskins star was not at home.

The Washington Redskins already have enough things to worry about. They are currently sitting at a 2-4 record. Even thought the season is young, the possibility of making it to the NFL Playoffs are fading away, as the Dallas Cowboys will soon get Tony Romo and Dez Bryant back on the field.

Now, the team has to worry about DeSean Jackson. The Washington Redskins wide receiver has a history with street gangs. There are those that believe that the Philadelphia Eagles gave up on Jackson because of those ties. For a team to give up on a very talented player, it shows just how much the Eagles were worried about Jackson.

Through his publicist, DeSean Jackson is claiming to have no knowledge of the incident until someone called him. His publicist also tried to paint a gentler picture of Jackson by informing people that he is focused on being a father for the very first time.

The Washington Redskins have issued a generic statement, as expected. They are saying that DeSean Jackson and the police will get to the bottom of the story. They have not expressed public concerns over the matter, but internally, the Redskins have to be fuming over an issue that was thought to be in the past.

While he may not necessarily be a full-fledged member, DeSean Jackson is close associates of many members of the Crips gang. During a game while he was playing for the Philadelphia Eagles, Jackson foolishly decided to throw up gang signs. Police in Los Angeles recognized the gang signs since they are used in a local neighborhood.

DeSean Jackson has missed team meetings due to the influences of his gang member friends. It costs Jackson his job with the Philadelphia Eagles, and it might end up costing him his job with the Washington Redskins. Hard to imagine another NFL team taking a chance on Jackson.
