Harry Styles’ Acting Career Confirmed? One Direction’s ‘Made In The A.M.’ Songwriter Drops Hints

Harry Styles and his fellow One Direction bandmates may be eager to take some time off from making music after One Direction embarks on their extended hiatus in 2016, but is Styles planning on making the jump into acting following the group’s release of their fifth studio album, Made in the A.M.?

According to One Direction’s legendary songwriter, Wayne Hector, Harry Styles has the potential to make it big should Harry decide to embark on an acting career.

Hector dropped some not-so-subtle hints about Styles’ post-One Direction plans during an interview with The Mirror at the BMI Awards, telling the site that while he isn’t sure what all of the One Direction boys have planned for their hiatus, Styles may be considering focusing on launching his acting career.

“I’m not sure all of One Direction will want to focus on music, maybe acting—Harry is a star.”

This isn’t the first time Harry Styles has made headlines for his reported plans to become an actor; a source close to Harry confirmed rumors of a potential acting career for Styles back in August, telling E! News that Styles has been approached by several industry professionals regarding acting opportunities for the One Direction star.

“Harry is being offered acting stuff, but he hasn’t accepted anything yet. He is not openly looking for stuff ether but is open to offers.”

The source further notes that if Harry Styles did pursue an acting career, Styles would want to make sure that it’s “the right role” for him and that the film would align with Styles’ long term career goals.

Earlier this year, rumors of Harry Styles’ acting plans caused turmoil within the One Direction fandom after film executive and producer Harvey Weinstein called Harry Styles a “movie star” and admitted to having had lunch with Styles on several occasions in order to discuss his acting prospects, Huffington Post UK reports.

While Weinstein feels that there’s “no question” that Styles will enter the film industry as an actor, One Direction fans continued to grow more concerned about the future of 1D given Harry Styles’ various career opportunities aside from the Made in the A.M. group.

In addition, Styles’ friend and former *NSYNC singer, Lance Bass, allegedly said in August that Styles is “going to live in Hollywood” following One Direction’s hiatus and that Harry Styles is growing more serious about considering his career opportunities as an actor, according to The Sun, via The Mirror.

While One Direction fans will have to wait and see if Harry Styles makes his silver screen debut as an actor during One Direction’s hiatus, Styles has also sparked rumors of wanting to embark on a solo music career despite losing fifth member Zayn Malik to a new record label earlier this year.

Rumors of Styles’ acting and solo music career have been plaguing the group for years; however, reports are suggesting that if Harry Styles were to release his own music aside from One Direction, Styles would be required to wait until ex-One Direction member Zayn Malik releases his own album first.

Regardless of Harry Styles’ acting or music plans following the brief disbandment of One Direction next year, the group is working hard to promote the impending release of their fifth studio album, Made in the A.M., which drops on November 13.

One Direction recently dropped the music video accompaniment for Styles’ track, “Perfect,” and continues to wrap up their world tour just weeks ahead of Made in the A.M.‘s imminent arrival.
