Deongelo Holmes Arrest: Ying Yang Twins Rapper Arrested for DUI, Child Endangerment

Rapper Deongelo Holmes, one half of the hip-hop duo the Ying Yang Twins, was arrested on June 1 in Duluth, Georgia for a DUI, child-endangerment and marijuana possession.

According to the Gwinnett County Police report, Holmes – who raps under the name D-Roc – was allegedly spotted by officers swerving in and out of his lane as he drove his 2002 GMC Yukon Denali.

Upon stopping the 33-year-old rapper, police say his eyes were “bloodshot and glazed” and his speech was “mumbled, slurred, and slow.”

“He crossed the center line several times,” Gwinnett County police Cpl. Jake Smith told WSBTV Atlanta. “He smelled alcohol. He smelled marijuana when the driver rolled down the window.”

Smith added Holmes had a 3-year old and 2-month old in his backseat. Marijuana and Xanax were also found in the car.

“When they’re putting their children in danger also, it’s completely unacceptable,” Smith said.

After failing a field sobriety test, D-Roc was then taken into custody and later released after posting $13,500 bond. According to TMZ, this isn’t Holmes’ first arrest for drunk driving as he was also busted twice on DUI charges in 2004.

The Atlanta based Ying Yang Twins, consisting of Deongelo Holmes and rapper Eric Jackson, rose to mainstream popularity in 2003 collaborating with Lil Jon in his single “Get Low.”

Most recently, the rap duo made their own remix to Justin Bieber’s hit single “Boyfriend,” which features 2 Chainz, Mac Miller and Asher Roth.
