As her due date quickly approaches, Jessa Duggar Seewald is getting prepared for the birth of her first child with husband Ben Seewald. She is down to her last couple of weeks of her pregnancy, and she is looking fabulous. Along with getting everything ready at home, there is also a baby shower that soon-to-be moms look forward to. The reality star had a fall-themed shower, and it sounds like it was quite a fun time for her and Ben.
The baby shower was held at a friend’s barn in their home state of Arkansas on October 15, and over 100 guests came out to help Jessa and Ben celebrate their upcoming arrival. Details were spilled to Us Weekly on what went on during this co-ed shower. Ben Seewald was able to join in on the fun as well since it was a “guy-friendly” event. That also means Jim Bob Duggar was able to share in the festivities, along with male siblings of this couple.

In keeping with the crisp autumn theme, the guests got to enjoy an open fire in which they roasted their own hot dogs. You just couldn’t have a baby shower without desserts, and the theme for the yummy treats was pumpkin. They apparently indulged in pumpkin cake balls, pumpkin dessert bars, and also pecan and pumpkin pies.
As for the beverages, Jessa Duggar chose to go with two different kinds of punch. They had both pink lemonade and blue Hawaiian Punch because no one knows whether they are having a boy or a girl just yet. The couple has been keeping it a secret from everyone, even their families. It will definitely be a surprise when this little bundle of joy is born.
Every baby shower seems to include games, and this one was no different. One particular game was men chugging milk. It sounds like it was a competition to see who could drink the most in a certain amount of time. In addition, the women had to change diapers on baby dolls with their eyes closed. The source spilled that it was Jessa Duggar who was the fastest diaper changer. It must be all of those diapers she changed from her younger siblings.
Another game that Ben Seewald came up with was a baby food-making contest. It sounds like Jessa and Ben will be making their own homemade baby food for their child, which is a healthier thing to do.
Jessa Duggar Seewald seems to be a girl who does things her own way, so this time she broke tradition and chose to have the guests bring a piece of paper with a prayer of blessing that they wrote out for them, instead of bringing baby gifts to the shower. The expectant mom will then compile all of them into a keepsake to treasure forever.
It sounds like it was a special time for Ben and Jessa, as they got to spend it with people they love, including Jill Dillard. Jessa’s sister was able to be there for the baby shower. However, Jill left the following Monday to head back to the mission field in South America with husband Derick and baby son Israel, as reported by People.
The photos that Us Weekly posted showed just how glowing Jessa Duggar is, even this late into her pregnancy. She is wearing a flowery top that shows off her growing baby bump. She complimented it with a gold sweater just in time for the cool autumn day.
Fans of the Duggar family will get the chance to see the baby shower happenings as TLC is expected to air this special event as part of the new series, Jill and Jessa: Counting On. This new reality show will be following the sisters in their new lives as wives and mothers, as well as Jill Dillard and husband Derick’s missionary work in South America.
