2015 MTV EMAs: Justin Bieber To Perform In Milan, Will He Sing ‘Sorry?’

Global superstar, Justin Bieber, is set to perform at the 2015 MTV’s EMAs in Milan, Italy at the end of this month.

The Ed Sheeran, Ruby Rose-hosted music event takes place at Milan’s Mediolanum Forum on October 25 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. Justin is already in Europe. The singer flew into London on Monday, as his promo tour continues ahead of the release of his highly-anticipated new album, Purpose, on November 13.

Justin announced his upcoming EMAs date via Facebook with a statement, saying, “I’m excited to share this performance and this new material with my fans around the world.” He continued, “The EMAs are always a blast. I’m glad to be back and it’s going to be fun.”

Small wonder the 21-year-old will be rocking up the usually fun bash. The singer has won the Best Male trophy five times in a row, including last year when he also took home (in absentia) the Best Canadian Act award.

This year, Justin has been nominated in five categories: Best Canadian, Best Male (again), Best Pop, Best Worldwide Act: North America, Best Look, Best Collaboration (for the his Jack U team-up on “Where Are U Now?”), and Biggest Fans.

Previously announced EMAs performers include Andrea Bocelli, Ellie Goulding, Jason Derulo, Pharrell Williams, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Ed Sheeran & Rudimental, twenty one pilots, Martin Garrix, Afrojack, Tori Kelly, James Bay, and Jess Glynne.

Brit New Romantics veterans, Duran Duran, will play a special show on Saturday night from the landmark Piazza del Duomo in Milan.

Starry presenters at the show will include Charli XCX, U.K. rapper Tinie Tempah, Ashley Benson, Fifth Harmony, Mark Ronson, Martin Garrix and Shay Mitchell, and model Hailey Baldwin, who, incidentally is a longtime pal of the Biebs.

With the heartthrob only a few hours away from premiering his brand new “Sorry” collaboration with EDM wizards Skrillex and Blood across radio at 4 p.m. EST today, it’s highly likely Bieber will perform the song at the EMAs. Will the crowd also get to see him perform his No. 1 mega-smash “What Do You Mean?” or “Where Are U Now?” Time will tell.

Looks like Sivan’s excited.

Meanwhile, following a week of teasers of the new jam — which included two Instagram videos, a funny vine featuring Vine star King Bach and the First Lady, Michelle Obama, and an acoustic snippet — Team Bieber stepped up a gear on Wednesday.

The singer tweeted “#PreOrderPurpose and get #SORRY,” along with the iTunes link to the deluxe edition of Purpose, before rolling out a visual snippet featuring the ReQuest and The Royal Family Mega Crews — an all-female hip-hop dance crew from New Zealand.

Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, confirmed via Instagram that the clip is a look at the “sneak vid.”

In the video, Ruthy Pearce, seen popping in front, is backed by a line-up of dancers choreographed by Parris Goebel, who leads the seven dance crews which make up the Auckland-based Royal Family Mega Crew.

The Royal Family Dance Crew reposted the teaser at their Instagram page. As yet, there’s no word when the full visual will arrive. Whether it’s a peek at the lyric video or the full-blown music video remains to be seen.

As for the 2015 MTV EMAs, voting in all categories is open on mtvema.com through to midnight CET October 24. Click the following link for a look at a full list of nominations.
