Henry Cavill Joins Social Media After Years Of Pleas From Fans

After years of hearing fans pleading with him to take the plunge, British actor Henry Cavill joined social media today.

A reluctant Cavill has stood steady on his resolve not to join any social media site for several years, especially after his newly found fame from his role as Superman in Man of Steel and the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

On Wednesday morning, millions of fans rejoiced with news that Henry Cavill joined social media, finally. On his new Facebook page, the actor addressed his reluctance at taking the plunge.

“So I’ve finally taken the leap into social media! And here’s a little treat for you all in the form of a sneak peek of the Batman v Superman cover shot from Total Film magazine, before the issue comes out on Friday.”

Of course, when someone like Henry Cavill joins social media, it’s an event of massive proportions and he already has more than 84,000 likes on Facebook. This happened in less than one hour, which shows how much fans appreciate the exciting news.

While Cavill hasn’t joined Twitter yet, he does have an Instagram account, according to his fan page, HenryCavill.org, on the social media site.

As you can see on his first post to Instagram, after joining social media, Henry Cavill shared a new magazine cover, from Total Film.

For fans, the fact that Henry Cavill joins social media ahead of the much awaited Batman v Superman March 25, 2016, release is the best news possible. While the handsome Brit has decided not to join Twitter, for unknown reasons, millions are hoping he does so, as this is the site in which celebrities are more accessible to them.

It’s not exactly clear what finally prompted Henry to join social media after being reluctant to do so and vowing never to become a part of this popular trend. Perhaps his co-star and good friend, Luke Evans — who has a very strong and loyal social media following — talked him into doing it.

Whatever the case, anyone who’s a Cavill fan is excited this Wednesday and after years of waiting they finally have their wish come true. It will be interesting to see how the newcomer handles fans and if he actually joins Twitter as many wish.

Over the last few years, Henry Cavill has been under a lot of pressure to join social media, and he has claimed he wasn’t interested in putting himself out there. Many others before him have been in the same situation and have eventually given in.

In an age where social media is one of the biggest forms of free advertisement for celebrities, many think it’s foolish not to take advantage of that medium. But there are also negatives that come along with being on social media.

Unquestionably, one of the bad aspects of all things social is more exposure to trolls, or bullies. Even the most popular actors suffer from personal attacks on social media. After all, it’s impossible to please everyone.

Hopefully, before Henry Cavill joined social media, he thought about the pros and cons. Those who follow the British actor will certainly agree that this move is more for his fans’ benefit than his own, and he is well-known for being extremely accessible to his adoring followers.
