Josh Duggar ‘Freed’ Of Sex Addiction In Bible-Based Rehab As Michelle & Jim Bob Get Marriage Counseling [Video]
Josh Duggar was once known simply as the oldest son of the 19 Kids And Counting reality TV show. Married to Anna, Duggar seemed like an aspiring young man who could build a promising career in a field such as conservative politics or religion. But what a difference a year has made to his reputation after news broke that Josh had molested five underage girls when he was a teenager, including several of his own sisters, among them Jessa and Jill Duggar. Duggar apologized, but then a new scandal broke after the Ashley Madison Web site was hacked and he was linked to two separate subscriptions on the site designed to facilitate marital affairs.
After confessing to cheating on his wife Anna and porn addiction, Josh entered a rehab facility that includes activities such as Bible study and counseling, reported Us Weekly.
The Reformers Unanimous center, located in Illinois, is a long-term treatment facility, and Josh will start each day at 4:30 am. He will have to write about his needs, pray, and reveal his requests to God with the others at the center. In addition, Duggar will perform 40 hours of community service weekly.
As for visiting with his family, Josh had to complete 10 days before he could have the privilege of making a weekly call. Following 60 days at the treatment center, he can leave for weekends. But Duggar cannot have his family mail him gifts that are banned,which range from pornography to music.
The rehab where Josh is staying claims that its process is the only way to “free” people from various types of addiction. Duggar had confessed to porn addiction and reportedly entered the facility for treatment for sex addiction.
“If you want to be freed, you will have to go through the only Way that grants freedom. Learn what every individual must know before he or she can begin to overcome an addiction,” promises the site.
But it’s not just Josh who is seeking help. His parents Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar also have decided to get some assistance with their marriage after all of Josh’s scandals, reported the Hollywood Gossip.
But after rumors escalated that Josh’s parents had decided to get counseling at a retreat because of a marriage crisis, the Duggars claimed that they just needed to improve their relationship, downplaying the possibility that the scandals had caused serious issues.
In addition, Michelle and Jim Bob shared that they planned the retreat date to be home prior to November 1, which is the due date for their daughter Jessa’s first baby.
In addition to expecting a baby, Jessa along with her sister Jill Duggar is excited about starring in a 19 Kids And Counting spin-off that will consist of several specials, as the Inquisitr reported.
Jill, married to Derick Dillard with one son, and her sister, married to Ben Seewald, are shown in a preview of Counting On discussing their brother’s confessions about molestation, cheating on his wife, and porn addiction.
Both sisters have increasingly become more open in discussing the scandals that were caused by Josh but affected the entire Duggar family, reported Us Weekly.
“The whole world was shocked,” stated Jill, who is 25 years old. “I’ve cried a lot of tears. I still do. I don’t know, I’m hurting.”
The father of four apologized using the Duggar family website to express his regret.
“I have been the biggest hypocrite ever,” wrote Josh. “While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife. I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him.”
