Tamra Barney Called An ‘Emotional Vampire’ By Ex-Husband: How She Responded

Tamra Barney may have shown everything from divorce issues to dates, from financial troubles to opening a business — and everything in between on The Real Housewives of Orange County. However, on the reunion, fans learned that she had been keeping a big secret. Barney was dealing with a very serious and emotional battle. Her oldest daughter, Sidney, was no longer speaking to her.

Tamra Barney couldn’t pinpoint exactly what went wrong. As she explained during the reunion, Barney had bought her daughter a necklace, they had been on a trip, and then all of a sudden, Sidney didn’t want to live with her mother anymore. She moved in with Simon Barney, and she never spoke to her mother again. Tamra tried to go to court to get her daughter back, but the judge couldn’t do much as she is 17 and could choose what she wanted.

According to a new Instagram post, Tamra Barney is taking the high road when it comes to her ex-husband. Of course, these two are no longer getting along thanks to a horrible custody issue. Barney opened up about this issue on the reunion special, and she revealed that her oldest daughter, Sidney, is no longer speaking to her. While this was happening, Simon may have been watching the show because he posted a simple Instagram picture, where he called her a narcissist.

“A narcissist’s weapon of choice is often verbal — slander, lies, playing the victim in flipped tales of who was the victim and who was the abuser, gossip, rage, verbal abuse and intentional infliction of emotional pain,” Simon revealed on Twitter as the reunion show was airing, adding, “This is why narcissists are so often called ’emotional vampires.'”

Of course, Tamra could have come out guns blazing. It is clear that Barney doesn’t think she did anything wrong. And as the episode aired, she shared an emotional post about still feeling sad about the entire thing.

“It’s so unbelievably hard. I still don’t know if sharing it was the right thing to do, I’ve been in tears all day. I just want my Daughter back. Please God please bring her back to me. I love you So much Sidney. (for the rude people, I did not lose custody of my daughter in court. So please stop with the rumors),” Barney revealed.

But Simon’s post wasn’t posted until later. So how did Tamra react? Well, she took the high road and decided to share some fun and upbeat pictures from the pumpkin patch. Tamra took her family out to the pumpkin patch, and her granddaughter Ava was all smiles. Even though Sidney isn’t speaking to her mother, Tamra still has many joyful moments and things to look forward to. As for Simon, he appears bitter over how his ex-wife is portraying herself on the show.

“The not so classy moments her mother is so famous for on the show which she is a main cast member, i.e., bathtub scene, talking about anal sex, talking about having sex with her husband, being topless, grabbing other women’s body parts, trash talking, throwing wine, drunk, having her private parts in a man’s face, having a male stripper’s private parts in her face and being overall abusive,” he wrote in a public statement in September, according to Radar Online.

Since Sidney is 17, it is possible that she watched the show and experienced things personally when her parents divorced. Some believe that Simon may have told her stories about Tamra that made her move out. But it is possible that she made up her mind by herself.
