In the midst of all the commotion surrounding former NBA player Lamar Odom’s health condition, rapper and actor Master P has shared his two cents and dissed the people who have showed concern for Odom.
The hip hop mogul shared in an Instagram post that he is not happy with what Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant, Odom’s estranged wife Khloe Kardashian, and the Kardashian clan have done to put Odom’s condition in the spotlight.
While these people visited the 35-year-old in his hospital in Las Vegas while he was in a coma, Master P emphasized that they also contributed to what happened to Odom, one way or another.
In a YouTube clip, Master P even went as far as calling Bryant a “phony,” saying that he “could’ve saved Lamar Odom,” by helping him return to the Lakers. Also known as Percy Robert Miller, the 48-year-old rapper said he believes that, if Bryant really valued his friendship with Lamar, he could have made an effort to have Odom stay with his team.
Meanwhile, Miller also lashed out at Khloe and the Kardashians for seemingly running to Odom’s side only when they need something from him. He said that the reality show stars are only concerned about the ratings of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, of which Odom is still a part in spite of having already signed divorce papers.
However, Bryant, 37, isn’t one to allow Master P to have the final say.
The five-time NBA champion, who won two titles with Odom, fired back at Master P via Twitter.

“When we feel the need to question the support of others in moments as critical as a life hanging in the balance, then we must question the kind of culture we have created that has led us to such insensitive suspicion.”
On the other hand, neither Khloe nor any member of the Kardashian family has replied to Master P’s statements. Whether they are too busy with Odom or with other engagements, no one knows for now.
Interestingly, right after receiving negative feedback from Bryant as well as backlash from thousands of other critics, Miller seemed to have changed his stance on the issue. In a lengthy post via Instagram, the artist and philanthropist said that, while he and Lamar are good friends, and he has known him for 15 years, he eventually gave up and distanced himself from the former pro baller.
“I tried to mentor [Lamar] and give him advice, but he is a grown man and made his own decisions … I get that, that’s life. So that’s why I stopped dealing with Lamar”
Immediately, Master P received even more criticism, and this time the negative comments came even from his social media followers. But as a way to probably appease the world of social media, Master P made a final post that tried to bring the focus back to Odom’s health condition.
In addition, he admitted that his opinion does not matter, and that he just wants to wish Lamar and his two kids the best. In other words, he was telling people that, instead of spending time and energy throwing negative comments at him, they should just pray and wish the best for Odom and his family.
Fortunately, in a recent report, the former NBA player is reportedly breathing on his own already. He had reportedly woken up from coma a few days ago, and this time he is strong enough to breathe independently.
In the report, he said “I love you” to his estranged wife Khloe, 31, who has been by his side since last week.
