Raven-Symone Splits From Longtime Girlfriend After Tough Week

Raven-Symone has split from her longtime girlfriend, AzMarie Livingston. According to Us Weekly, Raven-Symone and her girlfriend of three years decided to go their separate ways.

Raven has been public about her fluid sexuality, but hasn’t opened up about dating AzMarie. During a conversation with Oprah Winfrey for her show, Where Are They Now?, The View co-host said the following about her sexuality.

“I’m in an amazing happy relationship with my partner, a woman. I want to be labeled a human who loves humans. I’m tired of being labeled. I’m in an amazing, happy relationship with my partner, a woman.”

She continued, “On the other side, my mother and people in my family, they’ve taught me to keep my personal life to myself as much as possible, but I am proud to be who I am and what I am.”

This is also the same show where she said she didn’t want to be labeled as an African-American.

If Raven-Symone’s ex looks familiar, it’s because she was featured on America’s Next Top Model: British Invasion, back in 2012. She also appeared on an episode of Empire last year.

Back in July, she painted a brief picture of her life at home with her then-partner to People. During an interview she said that she only binge-watches shows with her partner, but that method has gotten in the way of her completing shows. For instance, she said that she had to pause watching the show Suits because she had to wait for her.

Aside from the split, it hasn’t been a great month for Raven-Symone. The co-host has been publicly shamed on The View and dragged on Twitter for her comments. Last week, she had to apologize on Facebook after she said that she wouldn’t hire someone with a ghetto name. “I’m not about to hire you if your name is Watermelondrea. It’s just not going to happen.”

The response on Twitter was massive.

There was so much outcry over this that even her father came forward to admit that even though he raised her the best he could, at the end of the day, Raven still said some dumb stuff.

In a long winded Facebook post, Raven said that her comment was in “poor taste.” In her post she said that although she wishes that factors like sexual orientation, race, and age wouldn’t weigh in on the hiring process, that sometimes they do. That said, the former child star admitted, “But I should not be part of the problem, I should be part of the solution.”

Following that was her appearance with staunch Republican Ann Coulter, who put her on blast during an episode of The View. As the Inquisitr reported, Raven asked Coulter, “Why do you think it’s important to mud sling?” prior to The View co-host bringing up the school of thought of “not saying anything if you don’t have anything nice to say.”

Coulter responded in quite possibly the best way possible. “I’m at least talking about policy. You have a position on what people’s names should be. You’ll insult people for their names. So, you don’t follow it.”

As for her breakup, Raven has yet to comment publicly on it.
