Tamra Barney Hasn’t Seen Her Daughter In Years: ‘It’s Humiliating’

Tamra Barney had plenty of things to celebrate this season on The Real Housewives of Orange County, including a successful business and a beautiful baptism. And while Barney is putting on a smile for the world, she is going through some serious court issues behind closed doors. Even though Tamra has shared many things with viewers, there is one thing she is keeping to herself.

Tamra Barney has hinted that things went sour between herself and her oldest daughter, Sidney, when she divorced Simon Barney. Tamra hasn’t really talked about what went wrong, but she was clearly hurt by it. Barney often cried about the issues to the Real Housewives cameras without going into details.

According to a new Radar Online report, Tamra Barney is now opening up about the horrible custody battle that has been brewing in Orange County. Tamra didn’t show any of this on The Real Housewives of Orange County, but she is now opening up about losing the relationship with her oldest daughter. When she filmed the reunion, Barney did reveal that she was recovering with carbs, and now that fans have seen the show, they may understand why.

“Something I’ve never talked about,” Tamra revealed during last night’s reunion, adding, “My oldest daughter Sidney was at her dad’s and she told me ‘I don’t want to live with you anymore. You ruined my dad’s life.’ And for her to come and say that, I have no idea where that came from. She left that day and two years later, she hasn’t come back. She never talked to me again.” Barney hinted that something “really bad” had been going on in her life, but never really shared the journey with Real Housewives fans.

Viewers knew that Sidney was living with her father and that Tamra was heartbroken, but no one knew that they hadn’t seen each other in years. “I fought so hard to get her help. To go to court, to get therapy. The whole family is so separated. When your child turns their back on you, it’s humiliating,” she revealed, while Andy Cohen pointed out that Simon would be angry after watching this. “I don’t care,” Tamra concluded. While Tamra Barney is disappointed and hurt over how things have unfolded, she is now revealing that she wants her daughter to reach out. After the reunion aired last night, Barney posted an emotional Instagram message, revealing that she is still hurting every day.

Even though Tamra has The Real Housewives of Orange County as a platform to share her feelings and her issues, Simon himself has used the media to share his side of the story. He used to film the show when they were married, but he doesn’t have the same privilege when it comes to sharing his story. Earlier this year, Simon went to People magazine to share his thoughts on the entire custody issue.

“I have always tried to keep quiet and take the high road,” Simon previously revealed to People magazine, adding, “Unfortunately the latest barrage of negative press has warranted some kind of statement. My statement is to set the record straight with facts, truths, not fabrications and accusations. Not only does my daughter have to read and hear about what her mother says about her father on the internet and various talk-shows, she is forced to relive it over and over from her ‘friends and classmates.’ ”

Clearly, these two remain divided about what has gone down over the past couple of years. Sidney still lives with Simon, while the other children are thriving in a divorced family. They are not a part of The Real Housewives of Orange County, so Tamra’s oldest son, Ryan, is all fans get to see on the show.
