As the health status of Lamar Odom shows continued progress, Khloe Kardashian appears unworried and free of stress, despite spending days inside a Las Vegas hospital tending to the stricken NBA star, who remains her husband despite a lengthy separation. The 31-year-old reality TV personality recently started dating another NBA basketball star, James Harden.
The emotional status of Khloe Kardashian was reported Tuesday based on the first photos to emerge from inside Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, where Odom was rushed after he was discovered unconscious and unresponsive inside an exclusive suite at a legal brothel in the Nevada desert a week earlier.
Authorities believe that Odom had engaged in a four-day sex-and-drugs bender at the Love Ranch brothel, where he consumed cocaine as well as up to 10 doses of an over-the-counter erectile dysfunction medication known by the brand name Reload, which also contains the active ingredient sildenafil — the identical medication used in the prescription-only erectile dysfunction medicine known as Viagra.
The wild weekend that nearly cost Lamar Odom his life also cost the 35-year-old former Los Angeles Lakers star a reported $79,000.
The photos of Keeping Up with the Kardashians star Khloe Kardashian from inside the corridors of the 750-bed Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center were reportedly snapped on Friday, October 16, the same day that Odom is said to have emerged from his four-day coma resulting from an overdose of the drugs.
The candid and somewhat grainy photos were obtained exclusively by the New York Daily News, which holds the rights to the hospital photographs of Khloe Kardashian. But the photographs of the black-clad Khloe Kardashian may be viewed via the Daily News online site by clicking on this link and on this link.
“Khloe Kardashian’s face — in the first photos since beginning her daily vigil at the Las Vegas hospital where Lamar Odom was recovering — showed not even the slightest sign of stress,” the New York tabloid reported on Tuesday. “Her lightly made-up face was remarkably free of anxiety — even after hours spent watching Odom fight for his life.”
The paper also noted that the seemingly calm Khloe Kardashian in the exclusive new photos appeared “in stark contrast” to a grim set of candid snaps taken inside the Love Ranch, showing Odom passed out on a bed in the luxury suite, with bottles of baby oil lubricant and a large, black sex toy on his bedside table. He also had a copy of the hardcover book The Art of the Pimp: One Man’s Search for Love, Sex, and Money, which is an autobiography authored by the controversial Love Ranch owner Dennis Hof.
Hof has injected himself into the Lamar Odom crisis story several times, most recently on Monday when he told a newspaper that a “shady,” unidentified man had appeared at the brothel claiming to be Odom’s “manager” shortly after Lamar Odom was transported from his suite to Sunrise Hospital.
The “shady” character then confiscated Odom’s personal belongings, including the stricken basketball star’s cell phone, according to Hof.
The alarming and shocking photos of Odom inside the brothel appear to have been snapped by one of the prostitutes hired by Odom for his weekend binge and appeared exclusively in the Daily Mail newspaper online and are viewable at this link.
On Monday, Lamar Odom received a status report favorable enough that he was able to be transported by helicopter ambulance to a Los Angeles-area hospital that has yet to be revealed publicly. Khloe Kardashian reportedly authorized the move — though Odom is said to remain unable to walk.
The long-term health status of Lamar Odom, however, remains unknown. Though a recent CT scan came back “clean,” according to media reports, he may have experienced some degree of brain damage that could cause impaired mental functions as his physical recovery continues. Whether Khloe Kardashian will remain at his side in Los Angeles is also unknown.
