Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton Back Together For 2015 CMAs

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton split three months ago. However, both will be performing at the 2015 Country Music Association Awards. Since they are two of the biggest names in country music, it should not come as a surprise that they will both be at the event. This will be the first time the pair will appear together since their divorce earlier this year.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley will be hosting the 2015 CMA Awards again this year. This will be the eighth straight year the two have co-hosted.

Just weeks after the initial papers were filed, Lambert and Shelton’s divorce was finalized back in July, as reported by US Weekly. The country superstars put out a joint statement after the news broke explaining why the two are going their separate ways.

“This is not the future we envisioned. And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends, and colleagues.”

The couple had a prenuptial agreement in place which allowed for a quick and simple divorce. Shelton kept the home in Oklahoma while Lambert moved back to their property in Nashville.

Recently, Lambert received a star on the Music City Walk of Fame in Nashville and said she felt closer to the city than she ever had before and was happy to be home. She went on to say that she has “never felt so inspired” since coming back to Nashville. She is enjoying her time off as she expands her creativity.

Since the July divorce, the two have been very open about the divorce and have remained on friendly terms. In a recent radio interview, the “Sangria” singer didn’t seem upset over the breakup, “Our whole thing was, we are going to be cool about this, it is what it is.”

A source close to Lambert said she wants to take some time for herself before getting back into another relationship. She only wants the best for Blake and feels confident love will find her again.

According to E! Online, Lambert plans to be more cautious when it comes to any new relationships. Meanwhile, she has remained grateful to family and friends for their support during the initial media blitz once the divorce from Shelton went public.

In 2005, Miranda Lambert met Blake Shelton during a duet performance for CMT’s 100 Greatest Duets Concert. At the time, Shelton was married to his first wife, Kaynette Gern. Subsequently, Shelton divorced Gern in 2006. Shelton later recalled the apparent chemistry felt while performing with Lambert, “I’ve never had that kind of experience with anybody.”

Lambert and Shelton married in May 2011 and remained together four years. However, ongoing rumors of infidelity and hectic work schedules may have led to the eventual breakdown of the marriage. It seems that trust and the time apart were the motivations behind the divorce.

Shelton, 39, is nominated for two CMA Awards this year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Musical Event of the Year. Miranda, 31, has been nominated for Entertainer of the Year, among three other awards.

Despite the divorce between country superstars Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton, the two are on good terms and won’t have to suffer any uncomfortable moments at the event. With the former couple still being friendly with each other, they certainly will not have to worry about any sparks flying on or off stage.

Watch the 2015 CMA Awards live starting at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, November 4. Also appearing at the 2015 CMAs will be Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Keith Urban, Hank Williams Jr, Kacey Musgraves, and Jason Aldean.
