Metta World Peace Slams Kardashians For Visiting Lamar Odom In The Hospital
Metta World Peace thinks too many people have visited Lamar Odom in the hospital. More precisely, Lamar Odom’s former teammate thinks there have been too many Kardashians and Jenners hanging around.
On Sunday, the Los Angeles Daily News published an update on Lamar Odom’s condition, which included some opinions from Metta World Peace. The basketball player, formerly known as Ron Artest, said he believes the visits from all of the Kardashians and Jenners have created chaos.
“This is nothing against Khloe [Kardhasian]. This is for the celebrities that are coming to see Lamar. They should know they’re taking time away from Lamar’s children.”
World Peace went on to say that Odom’s children, 17-year-old Destiny and 13-year-old Lamar Jr., should be able to see their father whenever they want.
“The only Kardashian that needs to be there is Khloe. Not every Kardashian needs to be around. They need to keep it simple, so Lamar’s children can see him whenever they want to see him. They’re waiting in line to see their own father.”
According to multiple reports, Khloé Kardashian paid for the flights that allowed Odom’s children to fly to Las Vegas.
Lamar Odom was admitted to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas Tuesday after he was found unconscious in a Las Vegas area brothel. According to the 911 call, Odom is believed to have taken a dangerous combination of a sexual, performance-enhancing drug and cocaine. When he was found by two brother employees, Odom was said to have blood streaming from his nose and white foam coming from his mouth.
Since Odom’s admission to the hospital, members of the Kardashian-Jenner family have been with the former NBA player around the clock. Reports indicate that estranged wife Khloé has not left Odom’s side, and at one time or another, all of Khloé’s sisters (Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner) have been photographed at or near the hospital. Momager Kris Jenner has also been seen in the area.
Odom also has been visited by Luke Walton, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan, according to the Los Angeles Daily News. The news outlet reported that Metta World Peace had thought of visiting the reality TV star as he recovered, but he didn’t want to take time away from Odom’s children.
At the same time that Metta World Peace called out the Kardashians and Jenners, he praised Odom’s former teammate Kobe Bryant and Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak for visiting Lamar Odom.
When Odom was initially admitted to the hospital, TMZ reported that the 35-year-old celebrity had a 50/50 chance of survival. Initial reports indicated that the former NBA player was unable to breath on his own and that dealing with four failing organs. He was in a coma for four days before he awoke.
