‘Hellevator’: GSN TV Presents Horror-Based Game Show Just In Time For Halloween

Hellevator is a new game show that is slated to premiere this week on GSN TV — and it’s spine-tingling! Imagine riding in an elevator, only to become trapped — yes, that’s the feeling viewers will have throughout the entire game show. Hellevator is hosted by Jen and Sylvia Soska, known as the Soska twins, and it is produced by Blumhouse Productions and Matador in association with Lionsgate, according to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

From the producers of Paranormal Activity, Hellevator is an exciting new show that will chill you to the bone. So don’t watch alone. They say it’s just a game, but is it really just a game? One thing is for sure, you should be afraid because from the looks of the new sneak peak trailer, this elevator ride is pure hell.

Advertising for the new TV show began just a little over three months ago. And now the week is finally here for it to make its debut. With the premiere of this new show, Hellevator watchers will never view elevators the same way again. When you think of it, the producers were actually pretty clever about this idea for the show. They played directly on the fear many people have about riding an elevator. Now couple that with some freaky situations and a little paranormal activity, and you have the making for the scariest elevator ride of your life.

Jason Blum, of Blumhouse Productions, collaborated with the Soska twins to come up with the most frightening challenges to date. Hellevator’s sneak peak warns viewers that they will hear actual audio of the contestants’ terrifying experiences throughout each challenge. According to producer Jason Blum, their company does “all things scary.” The focus this year is on gore — and more gore.

Every week, three new Hellevator contestants will participate in the most intimidating situations they have ever faced. What the participants need to remember is that Hellevator is just a game. For most of the players, it’s all about the money. But they will also learn something in the process — how to conquer their own fears. In the first episode we’ll meet three players, Richard, Reina, and Sinead. Reina, 26, likes to be in control and doesn’t mind taking risks. But there is one thing she hates — the feeling of being trapped. Richard, 24, hopes to build a music studio with the money that he wins. Sinead, 26, is there only for the money and is glad to have Richard and Reina with her. But what she doesn’t know is that the group will separate and face many of their challenges alone. The only consolation is they will receive walkies-talkies to communicate with one another.

Visually, Hellevator contestants will be held in creepy rooms with blood-smeared walls. They will enter dark spaces, where they must fight off ghastly figures that may jump out at them. Some other images they may have to face include ominous-looking masks, two-headed dolls, and big black spiders. In one of the challenges, there is even a room full of coffins with bodies inside.

Faced with some of the creepiest situations, these contestants will have to prove that they can make it through the challenges without breaking. So, which one of these brave souls will win up to $50,000 for riding the Hellevator? To find out, tune into GSN each week starting Wednesday, October 21, at 8/7 central.
