Rockstar Games Teases New Online Garage Modifications For ‘GTA V’
Customization has always been a big part of GTA Online. Before gamers can even try out Grand Theft Auto V‘s multiplayer mode for the first time, they must create their own character to represent themselves online. Once inside the game, players can further customize their avatar by acquiring new clothing and tattoos.
Additionally, users can also modify their GTA Online character by altering what gear they decide to purchase. From weapons to vehicles, the game has plenty of options that allow fans to build and design a unique avatar for GTA Online.
While there are already several ways for gamers to personalize their in-game experience, the Inquisitr recently reported that Rockstar Games announced last week that the next title update for Grand Theft Auto V will add yet another level customization thanks to the addition of a new full-service garage. This week’s release of the Lowriders Update for GTA Online will open up Benny’s Original Motor Works in downtown Los Santos.
Unlike the existing vehicles customization shop in Grand Theft Auto V, the new garage will specialize specifically in helping players build their own lowriders out of select cars and vans. Showing off examples of the new vehicle modifications, the official Rockstar Newswire blog released a new trailer for the lowrider customizations that will be heading to current-gen platforms this Tuesday.
The Lowriders Update won’t be the first time that full hydraulic kits have been seen inside a Grand Theft Auto game. Back on the Playstation 2, players were previously able to build their own lowriders in GTA: San Andreas. So, it’s only fitting that the feature returns to the series now since the current entry takes place inside the same city.
When it comes to customizing the fine details of the upcoming lowriders, Benny’s service garage will offer lots of new vehicle options. Similar to how fans currently form their own motorcycle clubs in GTA Online, this week’s updates will likely encourage players to host their own car shows where gamers show off their custom lowriders to each other.
For the first time ever, a visit to Benny’s Original Motor Works will allow users to truly modify the appearance of a vehicles engine. Rather than simple featuring performance-based changes for their motor, the new garage gives gamers the ability to make purely cosmetic alterations to what’s under the hood of their own lowrider.
There are already plenty of wheel options to choose from in Grand Theft Auto V, but Rockstar Games decided that there’s always room for more. Since no lowrider would be complete without sporting custom rims, the update will launch with an expanded assortment of additional wheels.
Never before have gamers been able to improve a vehicle’s stereo system in Grand Theft Auto. However, that’s about to change since the new DLC update will feature multiple sound systems which can be installed at Benny’s new garage.
Finally, no lowrider would be complete without a hydraulics kit. As such, the new vehicle modification options will also naturally include adding fully working hydraulics systems. Thanks to this new feature, the GTA Online lowriders will raise or lower their suspension on command.
The Lowriders Update launches this week for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC versions of Grand Theft Auto V. The new DLC won’t be available on last-gen consoles, however. Rockstar Games confirmed this is simply due to hardware limitations.
“Future content updates such as this are only possible on the newer and more powerful platforms. As there isn’t enough memory available to add to the game on the older systems, we cannot make any more meaningful content updates without putting the entire game at risk.”
