Lamar Odom’s Father Can’t Stop Smiling After Miraculous Recovery
Lamar Odom isn’t out of the woods yet, but has miraculously improved since waking from his coma. Since he was transported from the brothel he was staying at, family members, included estranged wife Khloe Kardashian, and his children have been at his bedside. Kardashian arranged for Lamar’s father, Joe, and Lamar’s children, Destiny and Lamar Jr, to be at his bedside throughout the whole ordeal. Even so, Khloe hasn’t left Lamar’s side yet.
In fact, when Lamar woke up, reports said he vocalized, “Hey baby,” to Khloe, a fantastic sign as far as his cognitive skills were concerned.

Odom’s father was recently seen smiling outside of the hospital that Lamar is staying at. According to People, things are looking so positive for Odom that he’s breathing on his own. This is a miraculous recovery that no one expected after three of Lamar’s organs were failing. Last we heard, his heart was improving, even though he’s still under observation.

This was all the good news that Odom’s father, Joe Odom, needed, as he was seen with lifted spirits outside of the Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas. The former NBA baller’s father had a huge smile on his face. He had every reason to, as Lamar virtually cheated death going by the amount of drugs that he had in his system when he was brought to the hospital. The drugs that were found in his system include cocaine and opiates.
Lamar Odom’s children released a statement about their father’s condition and the support he’s been receiving.
“Thanks for your outpouring of prayers and support for our dad. We are here with our family and friends … We appreciate everyone respecting our privacy at this time. We ask for your continued prayers.”
Now, doctors say that Lamar will need a long recovery. That said, reports have come in that Odom is talking and texting on his own, which is huge considering it was believed that he might have brain damage. Despite the huge improvement in Lamar’s health, doctors gave a warning. A source close to the family told People, “He’s woken up and his heart is stronger, but there is still concern about his organs.”
As the Inquisitr reported, TMZ stated based on sources that Lamar’s recovery is going to take a long time. “Doctors are telling Lamar’s friends and family rehabilitation will take many months, and they believe an undetermined amount of damage to his body will be permanent.”
While we don’t know when Lamar Odom will be released from hospital care, the therapy that he will have to undergo includes physical speech among other specialized areas he’ll have to work on. As for where Khloe will be throughout this recovery, it’s said that Odom’s estranged wife will be by his side throughout the whole recovery, which is expected to be a long road.
The couple divorced in December of 2013 after it was reported that Odom was using drugs and had multiple mistresses. However, the judge did not sign off on their documents, so the couple is still technically married, though they’re estranged. According to TMZ, they will stay married for another two to four months, as a judge is not expected to sign off on these papers until then. As it is, seeing Lamar’s current predicament, we don’t really see Khloe rushing to get those papers signed so soon, especially when there’s other pressing matters to deal with.
