Gwen Stefani Releases Breakup Track Amid Financial Settlement With Rocker Ex-Husband Gavin Rossdale

Gwen Stefani shared her newest single “Used to Love You” at the MasterCard Priceless Surprises concert in New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom on Saturday evening.

The new ballad seemed to be an allusion to her divorce from estranged husband, 49-year-old rocker Gavin Rossdale. Stefani filed for divorce from the Bush frontman in August after a decade of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.

“I just want to share a song that I wrote recently,” Stefani said, before her performance. “This song is really special. I think this is gonna be the new single.”

The line “Yeah, boy / Thought this would happen / I let it sink in / You’re gone” could make anyone think that her recent heartache was the blonde singer’s inspiration in writing the song.

“I don’t know why I cry. But I think it’s ’cause I remember for the first time. Since I hated you. That I used to love you,” Stefani sang in the chorus.

“Used to Love You” is not the first breakup track Stefani wrote in her career. The song “Don’t Speak,” released in 1996, was inspired by her breakup with No Doubt bassist Tony Kanal.

Although Rossdale and Stefani are said to be civil for the sake of their children, their divorce is growing more complicated over time. It looks like Stefani is about to lose millions worth of assets to her ex-husband.

Radar Online has recently learned that Rossdale is “demanding more than half of her fortune.” The former couple did not have a prenup, according to reports, and Stefani is said to be furious because Rossdale was said to be uninterested in her money during the initial stages of their separation.

“She is just kicking herself for not getting a prenup,” an insider spilled.

“He has complained that while Gwen was launching her successful clothing line, continuing her music career, and expanding her brand by appearing as a judge on The Voice, he stayed home with their sons,” the source explained.

The source also revealed that Rossdale is going to bring the matter to court if she does not agree to his terms.

“Gavin is even threatening to go to trial if he isn’t given a chunk of Gwen’s fortune, and he will ask child and spousal support as well,” the source continued.

Even though both Stefani and Rossdale are well-known in their respective careers, the disparity in their respective commercial values is significant. The blonde singer’s net worth is around $80-100 million, whereas Rossdale is estimated to be worth $35 million.

However, Stefani is not going to agree that easily to Rossdale’s demands.

“Gwen isn’t just going to hand over a huge check to Gavin,” the insider clarified. “She has worked very hard for her money.”

The Voice coach shares three sons with the Bush frontman: Kingston, 9, Zuma, 7, and Apollo, 1. Previous reports claim Stefani divorced Rossdale after suspecting him of having extramarital relations with their kids’ nanny.

Rumors claim that Stefani is disgusted over the fact Rossdale is hanging out with their nanny who “dresses and looks like Gwen.” The said woman is said allegedly spending time with Rossdale in his bachelor’s pad because he does not want to be seen with her in public, the insider told Radar Online.

Stefani fired the young woman despite having no proof of the alleged affair. The mother of three reportedly became close with their nanny, even treating her like a younger sister and best friend. She was generous with the young lady and trusted her so much, Radar reported.
