Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber Tease ‘What Do You Mean’ Remix After Bieber Denied Grande Collab Rumors

After reports surfaced that Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber are touring together, the two are teasing their very new “What Do You Mean?” remix.

According to the Gossip Cop’s report, fans who pre-order Bieber’s highly anticipated album, Purpose, will have instant access to his new collaboration with Grande. On Wednesday, October 14, the Biebs took to social media to tease that the song is a special “What Do You Mean?” remix. The Canadian popstar tweeted, “I finally got to tell @ArianaGrande if u #PreOrderPurpose u get our song together :)”

In the post was a video of Ari and Justin having a conversation with a brick wall between them. They used as many puns from “What Do You Mean?” and “Where Are Ü Now.” At one point, Justin tells Ariana, “I just wanted to let you know that if they pre-order the album, they get our single, ‘What Do You Mean.’ ”

Grande coyly responded with a wink, “What do you mean?” Bieber answers, “No, I mean if they pre-order my album only on iTunes they get our single, ‘What Do You Mean?’ ” Their banter goes back and forth in the minute-long video.

It makes sense that Ariana and Justin would collaborate, since they share the same manager, Scooter Braun. But back in September, Justin said that he wasn’t collaborating with the “One Last Time” singer on his upcoming album. During his interview with Australia’s Shazam Top 20, he was asked if he was going to have Ariana featured on his new album. He said that he had no plans to collaborate with her, but he did hint that she may appear on an upcoming remix or two.

“Ariana is not on the album. But I think she might do some remixes or something like that.”

Back in July in an interview with the Associated Press, Grande hinted that she was working on a musical project with the Biebs, but they never got down to finishing it.

“We feel like we owe it to our fans to do something one day. We will finish it and put it out one day, but it just wasn’t the right time.”

This isn’t the first time that Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber have collaborated together. Earlier this year, he made a surprise appearance during Ariana’s Honeymoon Tour in Miami. Ariana rapped Big Sean’s verse in Justin Bieber’s “As Long As You Love Me.” Justin made another appearance during her Los Angeles show, where he sang his summer smash, “Where Are You Now.”

There were also rumors that Grande and Bieber were making some music together, after he shared a photo of them in the recording studio together. Of course, there were also the dating rumors, which has led some fans to give them the couple name “Jariana.” bieber10f-1-web

Earlier this month, rumors swirled that Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande have plans to tour together, but both musicians have been keeping this secret mum, even on social media. An insider told the New York Daily News’ “Confidential” column that Grande and Bieber’s joint tour is in its early stages of planning.

“The whole thing will hopefully end in several (U.S) stadium dates with special guest Ariana Grande. This is in the very early stages but serious conversations are taking place.”

It also appears that both popstars are on board with this idea, but both of their camps have not publicly confirmed this rumor. It makes sense since Ariana and Justin share kind of the same fan base, according to the insider.

“There is a ton of crossover in their fan base. If it does happen, it will be the top tour of 2016, pulling in hundreds of millions for the two singers.”

Justin Bieber’s ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez, already gave Ariana Grande her seal of approval. She responded to the singer’s tweet about her new album, Revival.

Since Bieber and Grande’s remix is finally on the Purpose album, their fans don’t have to rely on unofficial mashups of their songs. What are your thoughts on the two musicians collaborating? Share your thoughts below in the comments section.
